Blue merle is a grey/blue base coat with black patches sometimes large and sometimes smaller specs mixed through the coat. The Blue Merle coat can also sometimes have solid blue patches mixed within the coat which looks like a steel grey colour. Sometimes we also have Blue Merle Tri puppies available which are like the attatched picture but have tan hair in the ears, on the face and around the bottom and tops of the legs. As per the National Breed Standard Blue merle Border Collies are able to have 2 brown eyes, 2 blue eyes or one of each all combinations are very common.

Black tri border Collies have a black coat with tan on the face, bottom, tops of legs and in the ears. Many other base colours can also be tri including Blue Merle Tri and Chocolate Tri etc.

Chocolate merle coats vary alot and no merle coat is ever the exact same. The base colour is like a tan/light coffee colour with chocolate patches spread through the coat. Some chocolate merle Border Collies may have lots of chocolate patches and others may have only small little bits mixed through. Chocolate merle Border Collies also sometimes have one or two blue eyes.

Red and white coat colours vary alot from a cream through to a yellow/gold upto a deep orange like Borregoperro Night Light. All these variations are still registered as the same colour "red and white".
