Revd. Elaine Matthews-Loydall
I was brought up within the Christian Church, trained for Ministry, and in 1990 was ordained as a Deacon within the Church of England in. In 1994, I became part of history in the making as I was amongst the first women to be ordained as a Priest.
I have had over twenty years experience working both in parish and sector ministries in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, where I ministered amongst both Deaf and Hearing People.
For many years I have been supporting Deaf People in Signed Services for their Life Celebration Ceremonies; conducting Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals, as well as offering Pastoral Care.
I am married with three adopted children, two of whom have Asperger Syndrome (a social and learning disability), and through my own life experiences, I am able to relate to and empathise with a wide range of people. I have good oral and manual communication skills.
My ministry is people centred, and I work with individuals and families whether to support them in their time of loss and need, or to help them to mark and celebrate life's significant events.
If you would like further information regarding any of these services, please feel free to contact me.
