BABYLON   Large flowered Dutch Hybrid by Jac. M. van Dijk, who has now given up on Crocosmia, and sold the nursery. Extremely vigorous. Rich Red flowers with small Maroon ring around Yellow eye.

ELDORADO   (City of Gold). Dwarf plant, very floriferous, growing to 35cm. Flowers are large Golden Yellow, very good cultivar.

KATHLEEN   Flowers are very large and of great substance with broad Apricot – Scarlet tepals, the centre Primrose with conspicuous blotches of Maroon, externally Golden Apricot with Crimson markings.

SOLFATARE   Plant was bred in 1886. Large flower displaying themselves full face, Naples Yellow, habit almost  erect; stems 65cm high, a very distinctive and attractive cultivar.

LORD NELSON
   The deepest in colour of all known Montbretia and has very dark purple stems, much branched to form a fan-shaped inflorescence, flowers are deep Orange-Scarlet with a Yellow eye, Crimsoned externally, the tepals large and of unusually good finish.

DR. MARION WOOD   Large Pinkish-Red flowers, tepals suffused with soft Orange. Named by David Fenwick, a hybrid bred by Dr. Marion Wood.

AFRICAN GLOW   Medium Golden Yellow flowers. Pretty little plant.

HIS MAJESTY   Described as a glorious new, free flowering variety, and by far the finest  Earlham Hybrid that appeared to that date. The centre of the flower is clear Yellow, and this shades into brilliant Crimson-Scarlet, the latter colour being densest at the tips of the broad tepals.

OKAVANGO   Very large (5cm wide) rounded broad-petalled blowsy Peach flowers in dense heads over a very long period (Jul-Oct), very vigorous. A new sterile hybrid of great worth. Later into growth than other kinds (mid to late May).

DUSKY MAIDEN   Dull Orange flowers, dark Bronze foliage. Colour scheme is a contrast to the usual vivid colours of this genus. Philippa Browne hybrid.

FANDANGO   Fairly vigorous, free flowering, with bright, Pale Orange flowers. Narrow pleated foliage.

FIRE KING   Medium sized flowers of dazzling deep Crimson-Scarlet, a very abundant bloomer and useful cultivar.

BETH CHATTO   A red masoniorum hybrid Gary Dunlop once received from Beth Chatto Nurseries, he used to call it Crocosmia masoniorum ex. Beth Chatto, David Fenwick listed it as C. m. ‘Beth Chatto’ as there was no reason it shouldn’t have cv. status.

PALE VERMILLION   Originally from Carol Klein. Pale Vermillion flowers on sturdy stems. Good grower.

FESTIVAL ORANGE   Looks like a seedling of Emily McKenzie. Medium sized Orange flowers with a Brown throat and dusky foliage.

OUT OF THE WEST   A new introduction from Gwynedd, Wales. The flowers are a dramatic Tomato Red and Yellow, the lower tepals have a distinct Red border. The Yellow throat on the lower 3 tepals contains extra little petaloid curls giving the flower a semi-double appearance.

CHALLA   Large flowers, outer tepals Brown-Red outside, Brownish-Red inside. Inner tepals Indian Yellow, nasturtium Orange with a Brownish-Red Vein outside. (van Scheepen 1991).

BUTTERCUP   Rich Butter Yellow flowers. Raised by Jac M. van Dijk, but renamed as plants of the original name.

IRISH DAWN   Medium sized Chrome-Yellow flowers similar to C. Jenny Bloom but shorter. Flowers early.

FANTAISIE   Very large Panicles, very branched and very erect; flowers medium, presented very full face, perfectly regular, broad Light Yellow Centre, extremities of the Lobes a Vivid Vermilion, Red at the back, a perfected version of 'Bouquet  Parfait'.

CARNIVAL   Openly pollinated hybrid of uncertain parentage, but, resembling C. Masoniorum, bright Red flowers, flushed Yellow in the centre.

Reddish-Orange flowers shaded Off-Rose. The reverse slightly spotted Yellow.

TRITONIA
Disticha ssp. Rubroluscens   More familiar as Montbretia or Tritonia ‘Rosea’. Enchanting rose-pink flowers, like tiny lilies on fine wiry branching stems, lovely to pick or enjoy in the garden, from late summer to autumn. This plant was originally called Crocosmia ‘Rosea.

COMET EX. MALAHIDE   Flowers intermediate between those of the parents, large and Yellow, bright and striking, with the tepals centrally streaked Red. The flowers are sideward facing from the Masoniorum form of inflorescence.

CONSTANCE  Large Marigold-Orange, outer tepal, Nasturtium Orange outside, Nasturtium Red inside, inner tepal Marigold Orange, centre Buttercup Yellow. Vigorous.

RAYON D'OR  (Golden Ray). Large flowers are perfectly shaped, with broad tepals like a species Gladiolus, they are Ochre-Yellow with darkish Brown spots at the base of the tube. Rare.

LAMBROOK GOLD  Smallish, Golden Yellow flowers. Very pretty little plant. Rare.

CASTLE WARD LATE   One of five named cultivars of C. x crocosmoides still in cultivation, burnt Orange flowers late season. Vigorous. Hardy.

DEBUTANTE   Upward facing flowers that open Orange internally, but quickly fade to pale Pink, with Yellow eye. Deep Orange-Red exterior. Philippa Browne hybrid.

JACKANAPES VI   I don't know much about this plant apart from it came from David Fenwick. As yet I havent flowered it. Rare.

APRICOT SUPRISE   Obtained as a large brown flowered form but turned out incorrect, but with a good sized apricot flower hence the name. Quite Rare.

POTTSII SILVERHILLS FORM   Species Pottsii plant grown from seed supplied by Silverhills, SA. Very Rare.

SULPHUREA   Sulphur Yellow. Taller than C. Pottsii and with a greater number of spikes. Sprays of Dark Chrome-Yellow flowers with Cream coloured throat.

APRICOT   Dense clumps of erect dark green architectural sword like leaves with terminal flowers. This one has medium sized trumpet flowers of apricot in late summer.

COLUMBUS   Vigorous. Rich Golden Yellow flowers with several small dark blotches near the centre, opening from distinctive Violet coloured bracts.

LADY HAMILTON  A wonderfully neat variety grows to 1m high, stems erectly held and studded with Yellow flowers. A ray of Rosy Orange colouring suffuses the centre of the flower when it first opens, and the general colouring changes to Apricot with age.

PAGEANT  

Orange – Chrome flowers with a Red eye and a feint ring of Red a short distance from the eye.

STAR OF THE EAST  The flowers are a lovely Golden Orange. The buds are prettily tinged with Scarlet. The centre of the flower is very Pale Yellow.
