im sorry to say, that i've never met Dani, but im great friends with Karin Smith, a girl who played water polo with Dani. Karin had nothing but nice things to say about Dani. I can tell you how much Karin admired Dani's postitive outlook on life, and how much fun she had playing water polo with Dani. I dont know Dani personally, but any person dying of this young of age is a tragdey. Im so sorry for your loss. And my prayers are with you.

I cant think of a day that I saw Dani with a smile on her face. From Having one of our monday meetings at 8am and then going to three different pools in one day, and still leaving with a smile on her face. I always wondered how she did it, how she stayed so humble and happy all the time. when no one wanted to be at the Trabuco pool she was the one that took it and for the whole summer, which didnt bother her at all.
I could always talk to her, our conversations would brighten up my day. if it was a some rant about an ex, water polo, or even a crazy kid that we tought swim lessons to.
she is a person I will always strive to be like, and I will miss.

It was a pleasure getting to work with Dani. On rare account have I met someone that is as warm and genuine as Danielle Bernard. The example she left us is a hard one to follow, but the world would be a better place if we all tried to be little more like her.

I feel so privileged to have known Dani. Ever since I met Dani, I've been striving to be like her. I have never met anyone so patient, kind, compassionate, giving, selfless, and the list goes on.

Dani's presence alone would put me at ease. I'm sure most people from work know that I tend to stress just a weeeee bit. Dani always knew just what to say to keep me intact. If I ever asked her for help with something she would jump to her feet with a big smile, literally. I always told her how perfect she was, yet it never went to her head.

She would always say, "Don't worry babe, I got it". I have never heard her complain about anything, she was such a happy person. She was down to earth, she was real. She would never brag or gloat and she never gossiped.

I could trust Dani with anything, she is an amazing person through and through, I just can't say enough about her. She will be missed greatly, heaven is lucky to have her.

Dani was the most selfless, positive person I know. She was always willing to sacrifice herself and time just to see a smile on someone else’s face, while managing to keep one on her own, no matter how bad she hated the situation. She lived her life in way that I could only dream of. Dani loved her job and loved working with the kids, but more importantly, people liked working with her. I’ll never forget all the long, sunny, chlorine filled days we spent together, driving from school to school. She made my summers brighter and I will forever keep a piece of her with me.

Dani was one of those people that every time you saw her, it brightened up your day. She always had a smile on, and always was there whenever you needed someone to talk to. Watching her lessons always made me laugh. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone so patient. I will never forget a specific child she taught, that I thought to myself, gosh I wish I had that kind of patience. He just did not like getting his head wet, but that didn’t stop Dani from making sure he was having a good time, she would promise him, “I will not let anything happen to you, just one time and then it’s done, and then you can pick the game we play.” As I sat there life guarding, watching this same class, I noticed progress day by day. I thought to myself, Dani was not just another teenager teaching kids how to swim; she potentially saved her students lives. It was because of her kind, loving, and patient nature, that her students were encouraged swimming was not scary, it was fun.
Dani helped me along the way when I was learning to instruct also. Watching her classes alone influenced me to do the same that she did; be kind, patient, and never ever give up on a student. She was a great instructor, and manager, and I cannot tell you one person that didn’t love talking to her.
Dani made it a point to make sure everyone was taken care of first before she could take care of herself. Always laughing, and having fun, encouraging, smiling and making your work day so much more enjoyable, influencing so many lives in so many ways, Dani positively impacted my life in ways I can’t even begin to describe. Dani will always and forever be a part of who I am, and how I live my life each and every day.
