Welcome!

Welcome to the Dourado Golden Retrievers website. We have recently relocated to Shallotte, NC from Baltimore, MD. Our Goldens are pets first and foremost, but we've been also been quite active in AKC competitive events like obedience and rally since 1991.

We have had our first successful breeding resulting in 3 beautiful golden girls. Born May 8, 2009 out of OTCH High Times Wild Turkey UDX8 OM8 SH U-UD ODHF x URO2 U-UD Lycinan California Dreamer UD VE, CG, FFX-OG, these girls are healthy, smart and are already showing a propensity towards performance venues.

We only breed occasionally and only after much research. We want to breed quality, healthy Goldens. We took into consideration health, soundness, longevity, personality when planning this litter. Every dog that was considered had to pass all genetic testing required by the Golden Retriever Club of America. These included OFA for hips, elbow, heart and CERF clearances.

Our puppies were raised in our home where they were given a lot of love. We also exposed them to bio sensor exercises. It has been determined that those puppies that are exposed to early neurological stimulation gives them an edge. According to Dr. Carmen L. Battaglia, benefits from early exposure to bio sensor exercises include:

1. Improved cardio vascular performance
2. Stronger heart beats
3. Stronger adrenal glands
4. More tolerance to stress
5. Greater resistance to disease

Socialization is also another important factor in the development of our pups. The pups are being handled by different family members. Friends and family dropped by so the puppies got used to being handled by different people. They were constantly being talked to & developed a fondness for classical music. They loved being around their "Uncle" Kobi. This aided in their ability to accept other dogs & be around them without fear.

We are actively involved in and members in good standing with the Golden Retriever Club of America and the Chesapeake Golden Retriever Club.

Please enjoy your visit to this site. We are passionate about our Goldens and hope you enjoy your visit with us.
