Lycinan California Dreamer

UUD URO2 Lycinan California Dreamer UD RA CGC FFX-OG

Cali is a beautiful Golden Retriever who was born on February 26, 2006 out of OTCH U-UD Morninglo Fire in the Sky UDX4 MH NA NAJ WCX VCX OS (CH ptd.) CanCD x Lycinan's Grinning Cricket JH, WC.  She is one of 8 and the only one to date that has achieved an AKC UD and an UKC CDX. Her UD enabled her mom, Cricket, to earn her Outstanding Dam Title with the GRCA.

Cali is an intelligent dog who learns quickly  and is eager to please not matter what she is asked to do.  She has been very forgiving of her owner's training mistakes and is always willing to do it one more time.  Cali was ready to compete for her CD within 4 months of learning how to heel on lead.

Cali is a nicely built girl.  She is a large girl, over 23 inches at the withers.  She weighs between 70-72 pounds.  She has moderate bone, an easy drip-dry, medium gold with bright white feathering of moderate length and density.   Cali has lovely head with proper head set, deep brown eyes and excellent pigmentation.

Cali loves obedience.  She completed her CD in Novice A in three shows with three 1st Places and scores of 193, 189 and 193.  She has also earned her United Kennel Club CD with a 3rd Place and score of 194, 2nd Place and score of 193.5, and a 4th Place with a score of 193.  These scores were enough to earn her a Front and Finish Gold Award of Excellence.

Cali competed in Open A at Chesapeake Golden Retriever Club's Specialty Match in March, 2008.  This was her first AKC Sanctioned Specialty Match.  She came in first with a score of 196 and High in Trial.

Cali completed her CDX in Open A in 4 shows.  Her first qualifying score was at the Oriole Dog Show with a 191.  Competing in her first outside show in preparation for National, Cali came in first with a score of 193.  She handled the heat and outside noise with amazing grace.  Cali received her Open Title at the National Specialty in Warwick RI on September 24, 2008 with a score of 192.5.  She was one of 9 dogs out of a field of 30 that qualified.

We competed at Howard County Fairgrounds on October 11 and October 12 in Open A.  On Saturday, under Dr. Hallie Ray, Cali and I placed first with a score of 193.  On Sunday, under Mr. Ed Haas, we again placed first with a score of 193.5.

Cali placed 1st with a 186. We had a great time. Special Thanks to my trainer, Pat Brunstetter for without her guidance & teachings, this would not have happened.

Right now, Cali has just finished her UKC Utility title.  She earned her first leg at the TNT Canine Trials in December 2010. She finished her UUD on June 5, 2011 at K9 Konnections in Beltsville, MD.  Utility in UKC is very different than AKC.  The glove exercises are very different and a lot harder than in AKC.  I am very proud of her.
