Welcome to Flintshire Raynet
GW7CCR

We have been serving Flintshire for nearly 30 years and initially known as East Clwyd Raynet (part of Clwyd Raynet) prior to the boundary changes back in 1990. Since then we've been known as FLINTSHIRE RAYNET

Our members can be called upon by the County Emergency Planning Officer in times of emergency 24/7. Some of our members were actively involved for 5 days and nights with the Towyn Floods in 1990, and Llandudno Floods in 1993. Full report see "Towyn Floods 1990".

In addition, we provide safety radio communication for public events such as Fun Runs, Marathons, Triathlons, Mountain Bike Events, Horse Events, Motorbike Events etc. In fact we can cater for any event involving the general public.

If you are an event organiser or a prospective new member please contact us. Further details can be found on our "Contact Details" page.

It is with great sadness that I am am adding this to the site

After many many years Malcolm (GW4IEQ) has stood down as Deputy Controller for Flintshire Raynet.

There are lots of Radio Amateurs near and far that have to thank Malcolm for his dedication and for helping training so many of us. He has helped keep us in line and on many occasions I know he has had to shout and shout to get himself noticed, we do appreciate what you did for us and it might have felt like a thankless role some days but we all respect you and what you did.

I know Malcolm will be still out there listening to us and I hope on occasions helping us out. Those of you who have not been out on a Raynet exercise with Malcolm, might remember him from his days as the GB2RS news reader.

Thank you Malcolm for everything
