*Anthony 2008*

Anthony came home in December 2007 due to health issues.  He is doing much better.  Thank You for all the support we have recieved regarding Anthony.

In April 2008 we showed Anthony to support our local club, The Los Angeles Golden Retriever Specialty.  Michael flew out to show Anthony and once again they were a lovely team.  They both floated to their win of Best of Breed under respected Judge Marian Lyons.  This was Anthony's second BIS Specialty win.  We sinecerly Thank  Marian Lyons for the wonderful Day.

Anthony will be R and R for the remainder of the year of 2008.

*Anthony 2007*

In April 2007, a decision was made to explore a Specials career for Anthony. Bruce Schultz and Tara Tuthill approached us to take Anthony to some all-breed shows to try out this idea.  What a delight it was to watch as Anthony entered the GRCA Show Dog Hall of Fame and won his first all-breed Best in Show, all expertly handled by Bruce and Tara, in their first five shows! The ride continued in fast forward:  Anthony finished the year 2007 with 2 BIS's, 1 BISS, 19 Group 1's and 49 BOB wins and a JAM at the Nationals with Michael F. showing him.  It has been a dream come true for all of us. We want to express sincere gratitude to Bruce and Tara for their expert care and guidance of Anthony's career, and to Jeff & Nan Bennett for their graciousness in this endeavor.

In 8 months of showing Anthony ranked:
#3 Golden Retriever All Breed
#4 Golden Retriever Breed Points
#11 Sporting Dog, Group 1

We are humbled by this accomplishment for a dog not yet four years old!

Anthony 2006

Anthony is a moderate Golden Retriever standing 23.5” at the shoulder and weighing 78 lbs. His coat, light gold with moderate furnishings, is of correct texture with good undercoat.  His head is pleasing to the eye and has no loose or excessive flew.  He has full dentition and a proper bite, no dropped incisors.  His pigment is black, fading to dark brown in the winter.  He has a beautiful, expressive dark eye with black rims.

Anthony is a very easygoing dog.  He gets along with everyone, including other boys both young and old. He is 100% reliable in a group of familiar or unfamiliar dogs.  He is very attentive and eager to please.

Balance, foot timing and effortless movement are Anthony's hallmarks.   He moves cleanly coming and going, and covers ground with efficient side gait.

A late blooming puppy, Anthony started his career at 14 months of age at the 2005 GRCA Western Regional Specialty, winning his first Best in Sweepstakes. He won 5 Best in Sweepstakes and 2 Best of Opposite in Sweepstakes (losing to his sister, Melfi...)  in just 4 months of showing.   Anthony’s sweepstakes wins were awarded by respected Golden Retriever breeders Julie Mackinnon, Debbie Koopman, Jennifer Masterson, Jane Fergason, Audra Snyder, Sylvia Corbett and Tiffany Ogg.

Some of the proud moments that we shared while our boy was obtaining his championship:

2006 GRCA National - Reserve Winners Dog (1st place in the Open dog class)

2006 Sacramento Valley Dog Fanciers Assoc  (supported entry) -Winners Dog/BOW & Best of Breed for 4 points  on the day after the Norcal GRC Specialty

2006 Central Oklahoma Golden Retriever Specialty -Winners Dog for 4 points

2006 Middlesex County Kennel Club- Winners Dog/BOW &
Best of Breed
for his third major to finish his Championship

Anthony finished his championship at the prestigious Boston shows in December 2006.  He finished the first day of a 4 day circuit with Winners Dog/BOW and Best of Breed over  top Specials.  Anthony won Best of Breed twice more during that weekend, winning 3 out of the 4 shows.
