Our AKC registered golden retriever puppies are highly sought after as our reputation of producing quality puppies from parents that are health tested for hip, elbow, eye and heart clearances that have excellent temperaments from pedigrees filled with health clearances many generations back - not just the sire and dam of the litter.  Whether you are looking for a family pet, therapy dog, agility, obedience or show prospect, our committment to maintaining the breed standard for size, weight and proper structure is taken into consideration with each breeding after extensive pedigree research.  Health, longevity, temperament, conformation, versatility and easily trained dogs are at the top of our list when planning a breeding besides possessing the necessary clearances for both the sire and the dam.

At Gotta Be Goldens, planned litters have their sire & dams hips and elbows registered with the Orthopedic Foundation For Animals (OFA) and are free from genetic hip and elbow diseases. Eyes are cleared annually by a Board Certified Ophthalomolgist and sent into CERF. Hearts have been examined by a Board Certified Cardiologist and certified free of congential cardiac disease.

We maintain a very selective breeding program with the emphasis on quality. We are breeding to the Golden Retriever Standard and our chosen venue is conformation. Usually we keep a puppy from selected breedings to show, obtain clearances and make sure what we are producing is a healthy golden retriever now and also for the next 10-12 years or more.

Puppies are AKC registered on limited registration ,wormed  every 2 weeks starting at the age of 2 weeks and their first set of shots are provided at 8 weeks by my veterinarian with a health certificate issued before your puppy  leaves  for their new home.  A written contract outlining the health guarantee of your puppy is provided as well.

Our golden retrievers ARE NOT raised in a kennel . Puppies are are raised in our family room the entire 8 weeks so that they are exposed to the everyday  sounds of a normal household.  We raise our puppies in the Jonart Whelping box with attached weaning pen. We do not work away from the home so puppies are supervised and cared for 24 hours each day.

Early Neurological Stimulation Exercises performed from day 3 to day 16 in order to ensure confident, well adjusted puppies at maturity.

A deposit is required to hold a reservation for one of our puppies and a questionnaire must be filled out prior to accepting a deposit. An interview will be scheduled so that you may meet us and our golden retrievers.

We encourage you to contact our references .

The State of New York mandates that ANYONE who sells or breeds more than 25 puppies on their premises each year must be certified and inspected by the State of New York. At Gotta Be Goldens PD#880, we are in full compliance. It is very easy to have successful litters of 10-13 puppies in each litter when you have healthy bitches, progesterone test and breed at the appropriate time. Just two litters of 13 puppies will easily put a breeder over the limit of 25 puppies per year.
