Hello everyone from Whitney!
She is on the Sunshine Coast and was adopted in 2009.
Quick update - she is doing very well! She has many new friends -a baby, a cat, chickens and parrots. And she loves everyone.
She is so smart and devoted. We are very lucky!

Hi Elaine,
Just wanted to thank you for finding us Tiny. Thank you for telling us not to give up when our first beautiful girl didn't work out. Tiny loves her daily works with her poodle siblings, her warm meals, her special ensemble bed and her hugs and kisses that she receives everyday. She is a gentle soul and we love her so much. We laugh at her when she does her "crazy dog" a crazy run around the yard for a minute or so or when she pinches our socks from our hands. She also likes to let us know when it's about dinner time as she will stand near the stove and wait. Elaine you are doing a wonderful job caring for and finding homes for these beautiful dogs. We are lucky to have people like you who devote their time to the welfare of animals. Keep up the great work. Love The Taylors

Hi BJ sorry for loss I know whats it's like to lose your best mate over & over again.Just remember the story of how you accidently stumbled. across Fatty & the others it was fate in the wrong place at the right time it pays to get lost of the beaten track it was meant to be.You told me the story, if it wasn't for you "Remember" that day and what you had done for her your "Fatty' and the others, homes & people who would love them unconditionally forever which they would never been given because of you.It leaves a avoid of emptiness & heartache I know many of us have been there over & over again.Even as I'm writing you this I'm thinking of my loses too its hard they are our kids,I still shed a tear about my Scruffy & Duke & Cassie they will be in our hearts forever, they had been overwhelmed by our love & care which many may never get. They are the lucky one's no we are to have had them in our lives.Rest in Peace "Fatty"

Hi Elaine,

Just letting you know that Cooper is doing so well. He has put on a lot of weight since having the surgery on his teeth and is jet black and glossy and has started to play and jump again.

Sadly, I lost my Fatty Girl which is breaking my heart but maybe she was just leaving to make room for another foster dog. Since she passed away, Cooper is living with me full time and hasn't left my side. He misses his play-time buddy so much. He and Fatty were so close.

Hopefully I will talk to you soon. Have a wonderful Christmas and I hope Santa brings the hounds new homes for presents.

BJ.

Not withstanding the fear of monopolising the Guestbook Page....! Just letting you know that my own Fatty and brand new Foster Geordie attended the Paws Of Thunder Charity Race Day today and they were fantastic! I do dislike the compulsory muzzles, however they didn't deter a single person! We must have been stopped no less than 30 times by people who wanted to pat them, in particular Geordie with his leopard skin pyjamas.... and the 'kids' loved it! The human kids loved them too!

As far as the racing..... no. Fatty got within a metre of the finish line, leading all the way, then turned and ran back the other way, stopping to get pats from the spectators... and Geordie. Well Geordie never actually left the start line. He sort of looked like he was wondering why everyone just 'left the room' so suddenly. Then he eventually loped slowly toward the finish line...
But Geordie did win first place in the Fashions on the Field!!! He wore his blue ribbon all day! Hooray Geordie!

The 'kids' slept (and snored very loudly) all the way home. Man I love these dogs. Truly. They have made such a huge difference in my life and I owe them more than they could ever owe another human being.

The day was fantastic. We were interviewed by Channel 7 and also the Sunshine Coast Daily, so hopefully more and more people can come to realise how wonderful these dogs are.

Geordie has had approx 28 hours with me in a foster situation and they never fail to amaze me at how quickly they adapt to this kind of life. It's like they know they're on a winner and they don't want to be without the love ever again.

Thank you Geordie and Fatty for a brilliant day, and thank you for trying so hard!

Thanks for a great day today, Elaine, and all the information!
Geordie has come to his first outside home, and he's settling in really well already. He stole my bed within five minutes so I think this is going to be a loooooong foster period!
Fatty is 'accepting' him at the moment, but is slowly warming.
As for getting a good night's sleep, well, I think a picture says a thousand words!
Oh, and he's learned his first boundary rule - it is not manners to stand over Foster Mummy while she's having dinner on the couch!
He's just awesome and is already picking up small things like 'move away' and 'come here, Geordie'... nice and calm!
Tomorrow he'll be out and about meeting lots of dogs and taking part in the charity dog race!
Go Geordie!!!!!

Hi Siobhan,
I realise your last message was several weeks ago, but how is your boy going? Did you get to the bottom of the problem? I was thinking maybe it would be worth getting a chiro or a muscle guy to look at him, only because it sounded like a trapped/pinched nerve? I had a dog that was prone to it, and was ok most of the time, but little things caught it, like he might have stepped funny going down the stairs or he might have slipped while running and he'd be in excruciating pain until it was fixed again. I'm not any good at remembering muscle names, but in his case the muscle bands that crisscross his spine had caught a nerve and it had bitten down into the vertebrae. Just a thought. Either way, I hope he's doing much better.
BJ.

Just a quick note to say thanks to Elaine for the great chat today and am so looking forward to bringing 'Fatty' with me to come visit the other hounds at Coominya on the weekend. Hopefully 'Fatty' will be keen to bring home a Foster Friend to help out (fingers crossed!).

Also, I'm heading to 'Paws Of Thunder' (a charity dog race fun-day) at Maleny on the 13th of June with 'Fatty'. I'm not sure if Elaine is organising to go, but if not, I hope loads of greyhound lovers get along with their special hounds just to remind people how great these dogs really are.

Elaine can fill you in if you want to go along to 'Paws Of Thunder'.

(Despite the photo, I'm sure 'Fatty' will willingly she her space with another Foster Friend!)
