To the Spear family -
Recently I found the article how the school named their late teacher as teacher of the year. I was shocked to read and see the picture of Jeff. I thought to myself - I know this face and smile! I had taken classes with Jeff in college, I can't remember whether it was in the credential program, or in the Master's program.
Reading your posts made me realize why he has that smile. Thank you for sharing your strength and inspiration.

I was at the Angels game last week & thought of the World Series game 7 we were at in 2002. Can't believe that was 7 years ago & still can't believe you are gone! Always thinking of you!

Hey Ruthe! So happy to hear the good news regarding your most recent tests results, glad Cath was there with you. I have been trying to make time for myself a stronger priority, hope it can include seeing you soon, once the kids get settled into "school mode".

I miss you Jeff and seeing his smiling face when I come home from work each day. In his honor, I surfed as much as I could for one year (August 2008 to August 2009). So far I've done 54 surf sessions in Jeff's honor. Thanks for the inSPEARation! Love ya Ruthe for your amazing strength. God bless you and your kids.

Spearsieeeeeeeeees! I am a terrible friend. We haven't talked in FOREVER! I was just browsing through the pics...the girls look like they are really getting "grown up". :) I am hoping to get down there this summer so I'll call you. OMG!! I am soooooo sorry for your loss. I will always remember Coach as a man of integrity, love, and laughter. 3 things that aren't easily replaceable in this world of ours. I will always love you Coach, you were a big part of " the best years of my life. " :( RIP

Hey Ruthie,
Hope you and the kids are getting over your colds now, I pray for you all faithfully and look forward to the next season of our lives, that we can hang out together and play some tennis and do the gal pal stuff. Taylor was at the same basketball game you were at back in January, some how you missed each other that evening. Glad you had a good time, the Harberts are friends of ours as well, from when Daniel was a little guy, how fast they grow up.
Hang in there my friend, you are doing a great job with your children, Jeff is seriously smiling down upon you. Some evening after you put your precious ones to bed....pour yourself a glass of wine, put your feet up in a cozy chair, wrap yourself in a comfortable throw blanket and feel the warmth of Jeff's love and legacy ALL around you.
Keep smiling when ever you can.
