Hello! My name is Amina, I live in Germany and I have had a penfriend (in 1982)named Anne Rogerson who lived in Keighley. We have had an exchange of pupils in September 1982 and I stayed for a week with her family in Keighley. Her stepfather was scottih and his name was ...Drysdale. She had also a sister called Wendy Drysdale. A friend told me, that Anne died nearly 20 years ago. Who can tell me something about her family or where she is burried. Thanks for every information! Best wishes, Amina

Hey Jan, I’ve just thoroughly checked out your site, great stuff. I really want to show this to my mum sometime, she’ll love the photos. Plus I’ll ask her if she’s got any old photos worth scanning, - you never know!

Just a sincere note to say thankyou to Jan and all her team for the fantastic work they are doing. It is work that the rest of us should have been doing long since to save some of the history of Keighley which has been lost. At least some of its present history is now being documented. Thanks

My maternal grandfather's address on his marriage certificate in 1893, is given as 15 Worth Street, Ingrow - and apparently his father died there in 1896. I know there was a Worth Street at the bottom of what was Parker Street (now Worth Way), but where was its namesake at Ingrow? I reckon it would have been in the Ingrow Lane area because the family lived around there at the time, and it may have been the subject of renamimg.

Are there any relatives out there of ROY BATTLE who worked as a fitter at Prince-Smith & Stells during the 1960s? I think he lived in the Goose Cote Lane area. I have a superb photo of him at his job, taken in 1963 at Chatsworth Works. If anyone wants it, send me your email address, and I'll forward it as an attachment.

Dear Lewiss
Before doing anything hasty and make a statement you later regret you should ponder on a few things.
If you feel so strongly that you wish to delete your site that is your prerogative.
If some small issue that’s been created by your fathers rude behaviour is going to make you give up at the first hurdle then yes you might be making the right decision, most people who have a passion for what they are doing would not give up so easy, so maybe your passion is not as great as you first thought, also you need to think if are you saying you are going to delete your site because: a) You are hoping that people are going to say no please don’t? b) This is not you speaking but some one else. c) What is it you are wanting to achieve by telling us you are deleting your site, if it is in an attempt to put the blame on someone else’s toes and hope that people are going to feel guilty then you need to have a re think?
You could of course after a good night’s sleep and some deep meditation realise that you’re just in a huff and that history is in fact important to you and that you really do wish to continue.
That being the case the first thing that you need to do is scrutinise your site for any material on there that is taken from any other website, with each item on there questions to ask: 1) do I have the hard copy? If the answer is no then you need to ask 2 do I have written permission and ALSO does it say where the information is from even if you do have written permission it needs to say from where you got it.
Just because you allowed someone to use your material or gave someone some photos does not give you the right to use other peoples work without their permission, it just does not work like that, I am not saying that you have used anything that is not yours, just giving you some pointers. Nor will the fact that your 13 offer much protection, if you read the copyright laws it is the same for everyone young and old. Also if you are using some free site builder, did you click on some sort of agreement when you were setting it up, I think you will find that there will be something on there that says you must not bring them (the site provider) into a copyright situation. If anyone is breaching your copyright then you MUST sort that out, ask that they remove the item if they do not have your permission, the law is there to protect you and any website owner against such an event.
Your relationship with anyone or any other website is a separate issue to your website.
