Jan is the most sharing person I know.

We are have a little joint history project on the back burner, dont know exactley where it will be hosted yet, for sure details will be posted on
http://a.mod-site.net/gb/u/valendale-1.html
and I would guess on here, so keep your eyes peeled.

Its a time consuming project, but should be great viewing when its done.

If it was my site I might be tempted to put a reply on your guestbook myself showing how nice I am. -- Something like saying you have had this website since 2005 for the benefit of people interested in Keighley Local History. You use whichever facilities the web site lets you as and when you need to update it. There is no reason why other people cannot operate their own web sites using their own photos, documents etc. but that all the originals of pictures and photographs etc. on your site are held in your possession on behalf of and as archivist for the Local History Society and can be viewed by any member of the Society if they need proof. None are copied from any other persons web site. Also that you work well alongside other societies and groups without any bother whatsoever and help each other for the benefit for all members.

Michael - sorry Micheal

As you do not even appear to be able to spell your own name, another pattern is emerging, the same pattern as in other postings.

The only person you are showing up is yourself.
AND
The only person to be hurt in this along with me is Lewis, I am sure he has no idea of the vendetta of hate being aimed at me.

Police & Press informed.

Dear Mr Vile, sorry I meant Lyle,

If you have been visiting here for years, how come i can not find any messages or postings from you here or anywhere else?

Even in the ones supporting Lewiss, your such a great fan of his I am surprised that you have not posted in encouragement before!!!!

If you have posted, please send me the link, then I can apologise publicly to you.

Actually Jan, I just thought, Lewiss is always after publicity, I think this would make a great story for the Keighley news.
I don’t think anyone is going come out of it smelling of roses, but we have copies of all the things said, and why should the rest of Keighley not know what is going on?

I would of course put this to the paper as an anonymous person, I visited a couple of local websites and there is a dispute going on, type of thing.
Has an outsider.

Leave it with me, I am speaking to my solicitor today, so will get some advice.

Dear Mr Lyle,

How strange you should join in some vendetta aimed at Jan. I do hope that you are using your real name and that you have got your facts right, because I think its time that Jan took legal advice, what you and are others are doing is slanderous.

Jan’s best course of action now would be to take a screen shot, log all and relevant details that pertain to this post and contact the police and a lawyer. This is harassment and bullying.

Most people don’t come to a website to leave a message to say they are going else where so why have you if not to make trouble? Please just go.
If you feel that Lewiss site is better, that’s great, horses for courses, one mans ceiling is another mans floor.
I too think the site is very good to say a kid produced it, as someone said other wise?

I think you need to be very careful what you say about who is and has copied what unless you have hard proof that will hold up in a court or law, because if I were Jan I know exactly what action I would be taking.

I must say jan i have been on your website for years looking through your pictures and pages- which are very good, but since this Lewis Parker (ive seen in the keighley news) came along i have been looking at his website since the start and i have noticed you have been copying his pages e.g Now and Then, Keighley Pubs, Old keighley beacause a few days after i saw them on his site they were on yours I must say jan, he is a good young child and i dont understand why you have been copying him. Now i have noticed that on the main page it says updates and that has been on lewis`s site for a while.

He has better infomation and facts about keighley and i will be joining his site

I'm working on my family tree and trying to trace my aunt's father, Thomas Shuttleworth. He was born either 1907 or 1908 in Keighley but the BMD website shows two births, ref.9A-183 in Mar 1907 and ref.9A-177 in Jun 1908 quarter.

I was told he was the son of KEIGHLEY'S FIRE CHIEF but I can't work out which of the above was my aunt's father.

According to the BMD index, Tom married my aunt's mother Emma Gibson b.1907 in Keighley in the July to September quarter of 1929, ref.9A-521. They had a daughter (my aunt) Barbara who was born November 12th 1930 also in Keighley.

Is anyone able to help me determine which of the above two Toms was the son of a Fire Chief and therefore my aunty Barbara's father please.

Thank you

Hi,I used to live in Denholme years ago and used to go to the Classic cinema in Keighley on Saturday mornings to the disco and film there for the youngsters. It was in the very early 80s and a bit before. I met a boy there called David Rooney..I bet he would be in his early 40s now. I would like to contact him if anyone knows of him. He's not very tall and had dark hair then, but i dont know what his hair is like now. Had a sister named Tara. Would be really special if anyone could let him know or me know that i would like to contact him.
Thanks...Tracy

Hello everyone in Keighley,
I'm from Sydney,Australia & I'm researching my family tree.

My mother was Eva McDonnell & her maiden name was Hurtley. She was born in Keighley in 1902.

What a great site. I also found it by accident and put this site into my favorites. I am searching for families of John Craven Denby born in Keithley on August 2, 1852. His parents were Joseph and Mary ann Craven Denby. Joseph and Mary Ann emigrated to Kansas, US around 1872. His grandfather was John Denby born 1791 and died in 1875. John was living at 898 Little Horton Lane, Bradford at the time of his death in 1875. His death card says he was buried at Scholemoor Cemetery.
Looking for cousins.
