Keighley Records - National Archive

The Keighley Workhouse and Poor Law Records have just been published online on the National Archives website.

This project has revealed an unbelievable wealth of information about our ancestors who ended up in the workhouse or being given relief or assistance under the Poor Laws between 1830 and 1855.

There are many other areas of the country who also took part in this project and the indications are that it has been so successful that the National Archives are looking for funding to expand the project to other areas and other periods.
