Welcome to Keighley & Schools Heritage

Welcome Down Memory Lane

Worth Village School - Highfield School Class of '62 (in progress)

KEIGHLEY SCHOOL HERITAGE is a group of like-minded local historians independent of any other society dedicated to recording and preserving the history of going to school in Keighley. So much of Keighley's educational and social history is being lost over the years as schools close or clear archive and individuals move or pass on. Often these are the only photos existing of someone's parents or grandparents in the days when owning a camera was rare. Help preserve these irreplaceable and important items by lending them to us so we can digitise and quickly return and show what it was like going to school in days gone by. We regularly have displays at Keighley Local Studies Library and it is OUR ethic to collect and share what we are given.

Feel free to contact us at keighleyschools@gmail.com

Follow us as well on Facebook: Keighley School Heritage as well as individual pages for Highfield, Guard House, St Andrews, Keighley Boys' & Girls' Grammar.

A new site dedicated to Keighley's Catholic Heritage including many school pictures is on  www.catholickeighley.org.uk

Jan & David would both like to thank Mark & Cat Wilson for their kind support over the early months of the website  and thank you for obtaining and sponsoring our domain name Mark.
Mark and Cat are the owners of the two popular website in our area

The facebook page for your Ingrow and Broomhill memories of the 1960's and 1970's should now be assessable to all

What's the page for Ingrow? My husband (Mark Keighley) believes he went there, maybe 1963/1964.

I was at St. Annes school in the days of Sister Monica (Head) Miss. Roddy (music) a long time ago.

Hi David, now retired (Exeter) after15 minutes of fame, we have hands full with grand kids. I thought this site was dead after so many quiet months.

Patrick Balson is in touch with Geoff Walker so I tell them we've been in touch. The last time I saw you, you were hanging out of an ice cream van on TV.
