CHARMING PORT DOUGLAS

Port Douglas er en charmerende lille by med et varmt tropisk klima og beliggende i smukke omgivelser helt ned til den lange sandstrand 4 Mile Beach og med en smuk bugt ved havnen med en palmelund. Her slappede jeg af den første dag, shoppede i byen og fik jeg lejlighed til at prøve grillet reef fisk i alle afskygninger. Jeg boede på et lækkert hotel, Rydges Reef Resort med 5 swimmingpools, golf & tennisbaner, levende fakler langs stierne og pianobar. Et meget romantisk sted. Mundies Restaurant der stod på pæle i en kunstig sø med søannemoner og åkander serverede en lækker ret med krokodillekød som jeg var blevet helt vild med. Jeg fik også lejlighed til at ride langs stranden og gennem sukkerrørsmarkerne på en afslappende eftermiddagstur.

Port Douglas is a charming town with a warm tropical climate, situated in beautiful surroundings by the 4 Mile Beach and with a lovely harbour bay with a palm tree park. The first day I relaxed, went shopping in the village and tried the delicious reef fish dishes. I stayed at the Rydges Reef Resort, a lovely hotel boosting 5 swimmingpools, golf & tennis courts, torches along the paths and pianobar. A truly romantic place. Mundies Restaurant lying in the middle of a small lake with floating waterlilies served a lovely crocodile dish which I had become quite fond of. I also had the chance to go horse riding along the beach and through the suggar cane fields, a relaxing afternoon trip.

Port Douglas es un pueblo encantador con un clima agradable situado junto a la Playa de 4 Millas y con una bella cala con palmeras. El primer dia me relajé un poco, fui de compras por el pueblo y probé el delicioso pescado del arrecife a la plancha. Me alojé en el lujoso hotel Rydges Reef Resort con 5 piscinas, pista de golf & tenis, antorchas iluminando sus caminos y pianobar. Un lugar realmente romantico. El Restaurante Mundies elevado sobre un lago artificial con lirias de mar flotando servian un plato de carne de cocodrilo al que me aficioné. Además tuve ocasion de montar a caballo por la playa y por los campos de azúcar de caña, una tarde de relax.
