Hi Mary, All the best for your move! I wanted to let you know that you were a HUGE HIT at our recent Alzhiemer Cafe. I showed the first part of your presentation for Changing Melodies and then stopped so people could talk. Well, they talked, and talked and talked some more. The AH HA light went on several times and it was a tremendous success. Thank you again for sharing so articulately and positively of your journey. Hugggssssss, Nancy Blezy

What a wonderful website. I ran across it quite by accident. My husband has dementia due to brain damage. Your journal and tips are excellent. Some I had come up with on my own but could have saved myself a lot of trouble. I hope to pass your link along to others. A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition. I can tell from your blog that you are still hanging in there.

I recently co-founded an organization called Friends for a Benefit, a non-for-profit organization committed to raising awareness for Alzheimer's disease among a younger demographic. I have two good friends with mothers (both under the age of 57) that have been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's and so this cause is incredibly near and dear to my heart.

On March 31st, FFAB is hosting Memory Ball, a gala event to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society of Toronto.
We would love for you and your family to get involved. Please check us out at www.memoryball.org or email me at cristina@memoryball.org

you are a true inspiration,

Hi mommy, interesting about the report of the nicoret stimulating receptors in the brain, I chew 6 to 8 pieces of 4mg daily. I wonder if it is contributing to my seizures, better bring it up to my meeting with radiologist in wednesday.

I saw the article in the Toronto Star, followed different parts of it and ended up at your site. Have read a few sections. I had not heard of the term "sundowing" before, but was aware of all the pieces involved - put all together called sundowing.
I'm got both my inlaws - one with mid stage dimentia, the other early alzheimers. difinitely going through learning curves with them at different paces.
I look forward to reading the rest of your site, thanks for the info, best of luck and health to you both.

Jim and Mary, I can relate in some ways very much. I have a Parkinson's Plus disorder, that is very similar to PSP and MSA, but they haven't been able to nail it down in 6 years. I just explain that I have a rare and faster progressing form of Parkinson's, with a slowly progressing cognitive disorder/decline. Well, I appreciate your blog and wanted to let you know.
