Hi,
Just discovered your site through a mutual friend and traveler, Joe; http://living-with-alzhiemers.blogspot.com/. I'm reading through your site and seeking information on how to care for my Grandmother who has Alzheimer's. You have shared so much great stuff. I share my humble ramblings on a blog too which is new to me. My Gram doesn't always want to acknowledge her disease, she would rather finish her golden years without much ado and that's a real struggle for me. I do hope that she would be active like yourself and Joe which I strive to get her there everyday.
The path of someone traveling with EOAD has had an increase in awareness recently, but it still has a long road to travel. Mary, your ability to inspire is unmeasurable. I'm so thankful that you're sharing your travels and your life's journey. It's because of people like yourself and Joe that I can be a better caregiver and also perhaps learn how I can prolong my own up-an-coming Alzheimer's journey as it runs in my family.
With my love and admiration,
Terrilee

Greetings from Seattle!
I ran across your site a few months ago while doing some research on medication prescribed to my 86 year old mother who was diagnosed with dementia almost a year ago. After many months of the wrong combination of drugs, she was put on the combination of Aricept and Namenda, along with an anti-depressant (can't remember the name) in January. What a difference the Namenda has made! While her short term memory is still not good, her personality has returned, as well as her desire to return to some limited activities. (After all, she is 86 so her activities have been limited in the last year anyway!)
I wanted to thank you for your site and your journal. I was sceptical about Mom's doc and the new combo of drugs, but after reading your thoughts on the Namenda, we agreed to change up and we are so glad we did. It is our hope that she will continue in her current state for as long as she remains healthy.
I hope you are doing well. Thanks again for all that you are doing to share your experiences and information. You are an inspiration!

Yes a warm bath. But you must add the Vaseline Intensive Care Moisturizing Bath Beads.Step into a luxuriously fragrant bath experience that softens your skin.Emerge with a relaxed body and renewed spirit. There are three different kind and Monie says they all work well. For an added bonus spray some Air wick 2 in 1 Lavendar & Chamomile.
