Indy turns 13 yrs old September 7th, 2009! He is going sound and strong. Wrestles whole-heartedly with Quinn, takes 2 mile walks most mornings and loves to perform tricks for treats!Indy recently participated (donated blood) in the DM (Degenerative Myelopathy research program. More information on DM can be found at http://www.caninegeneticdiseases.net/DM/resrchDM.htm DM is not limited to any specific breeds, however several breeds are pre-disposed. DNA markers and treatment studies are currently working to deal with this condition. Conscientious breeders (such as Indy's breeder) are posting the test results of their dogs, just as they do with hips, thyroid or conditions their breeds may be likely to pass on genetically.Testing for the following breeds would be recommended for the following breeds:
