Busy month
August flew by at a rate of knots...

Well Caitlin and Chris spent an eventful month with us which went very quickly. They kept me company when Paul was away playing with Keian, playing Kniffel and Razoo. They also went to Berlin for 2 days where they had a ball ending with a pub crawl which left them a little worse for wear on their arrival home to me.

Mark (Paul’s elder brother) arrived after much waiting for his flight (all day) following his European tour. Paul and he stayed the night and then headed off early to Berlin. I will hand over to Paul now to document their adventures during their 3 days away.

Mark’s visit came to an end all too soon! So we farewelled him back off to Australia as hopefully another satisfied customer!

A week later Caitlin and Chris checked out of Hotel Murphy! On their way back to Scotland for the next chapter of their journey!

Our new neighbours as I think I already told you are from Russia, Uri, Alla and Sophia! Alla and I have become good friends and ensure we keep each other sane, getting out of the house together walking and to the park every day. Once a week the six of us head out to dinner, which is fantastic! We choose a different restaurant each week and ensure we are there early to allow the kids to come with us! They have become a permanent fixture in the neighbourhood and fit in just perfectly!

Our newest neighbours have moved into Vib and Allan’s house (they returned to Denmark) but they are German, so our German friends in the neighbourhood are growing in number but we are still about 50/50! Angelica and her husband moved in with a very shy 3yr old and she is due for her second in 6 weeks! It will be nice to have a new bubby on the block again!

We did in August manage to get to DenmarkCopenhagen to catch up with Vib, Allan and the children. As you can see from the photos the kids had a ball catching up and despite Keian being as crook as a dog, he soldiered on and played every waking moment!

We had a lovely time catching up and got off to a flying start when we arrived at 7pm at night and had dinner where Vibeke informed us that the one special designer shop she wanted to take me too was staying open until 10pm as a one off today! What a coincidence! Needless to say we both headed off after dinner and did not come home empty handed! Love it! We did a riverboat canal type cruise on Saturday afternoon. So we were able to take in the Opera House (new), the cathedrals, houses of parliament and the royal castle. Copenhagen is a lovely city!

Dinner was a nice time catching up and talking once the kids went to bed on Saturday. And we all tired from the night before headed to bed relatively early for us when we are together!

Sunday we popped over to “Mary’s”, she must have got her dates mixed up though cause she was not in when we got there. These princesses they are sooooo very busy. But I can report she has a lovely little home in a little village outside Copenhagen which is very picturesque!

Sunday afternoon came all too quickly and before we knew it we were on the plane and back in Königstein! What a great weekend!

We also had a fleeting visit from Jacqui for one night which was a nice surprise but far too short.

Blake Bragg the newest lil’ Whoaphucker arrived amongst a flurry of inductions, UV lights, blood transfusions and enormous out-pouring of love! He is now fit and well and home with his two brothers, Mum and Dad. Congratulations Mark and Narelle!

My dad celebrated his 70th Birthday on the 29th August, it was a gala affair with Mum organizing a fabulous surprise party which Dad had no idea about. All the family were their minus the Murphy’s  and Caitlin which was a bit sad but it was by all accounts a brilliant party (true Duffy style) and kicked on long into the night! The photos are thanks to cousin Megan and sister Carolyn which I will include in the photo page! Congratulations Dad and here’s to many, many, many more!

Keian is developing at a rate of knots, he loves attention (what baby doesn’t) and is becoming quite vocal about what he wants and does not want! He plays happily at the park in the sand (eating it by the spade full at first) and adores going up and down the slippery dip! He thrives on the presence of other children and will certainly love his time in Australia with all the other kids to play with, the beach and warmer weather.

He sings to himself half the day and chats the other half. He loves to read books but prefers to eat them given half the chance. Infact anything cardboard, dirt or rug fluff is high on his list of favourite foods and keeps me watching him constantly or else finding him with fist fulls of dirt and smears around his guilty little mouth. It is hard to believe he is only 9mths old as he tips the scales at 10kgs and is keeping up with his friends who are 1 yr old!

Well with August another busy month that just sped on by between visitors, dinners, morning teas, baby events and our travelling. September is a busy travel month also with two trips. As well we have the addition of the newest “whoaphuck” baby to look forward to, Good luck Rach, hope its short and sharp!

Until then loads of love and don’t forget to send me YOUR family or self update if not on the website your contact page, then to my email address.
