Finding my first female to expand my kennel and get me on my way to breeding took longer than I expected. I started my search when Rhuari was 6 months old, I emailed and contacted several breeding kennels,some well known ones as well as the lesser known, I was truthful enough to say I was looking for a female to breed from eventually, I either never heard from them again or I got an email saying they would be in touch when they had something to suit, I am still waiting.
When Rhuari was coming up to 2 years old I was contacted by Kim from Chriskim Miniature Longhaired Dachshunds, I had made a comment in their guestbook about the lovely pics I had seen of their dachsies a few weeks previously and then forgot about it. After exchanging emails and long phone chats I received an email offering me Chase, a lovely cream dachsie, I was so pleased and grateful that someone had taken me seriously at long last, 3 weeks later after arranging some time off work we all set off to collect her from Leicestershire. I fell in love at first sight, she was so dainty and such a lovely creamy colour.
Chase settled in very well she showed Rhuari who was boss from day one and he was very happy to fall in with what ever she wanted,he was besotted with her, this relationship is continuing to this day.
I am looking forward to having Chase pups running around here one day, I can't thank Kim and her Mum Chris enough for having the confidence in me to take on this little girl and use her to start my breeding programme.
