- Being with friends who accept me for who I am and not what they want or expect me to be
- Being able to talk freely without animosity and if there is a misunderstanding, being able to say "I'm sorry" and move on
- Being able to give and take without being taken for granted
- Being able to accept that we may not all be like-minded but it's okay to be different
- Sharing ideas but being sure to give credit where credit is due
- Being there to lend a shoulder or a hand when times are bad
- Being able to rejoice for the other instead of being jealous of that person's good fortune
- Understanding the difficulties the other is going through
- Being loyal and trustworthy, not being judgmental, prejudiced, or a backstabber
- Being supportive and encouraging, helpful without showing superiority or arrogance
- Appreciating the person for what she is and not what she can do for you
- Being a team player
It is easier to speak of sisterhood than to actually be able to achieve it.
