Welcome to The Flame Newsletter of the Society of St Brigid of Kildare.
It is a delight to be able to congratulate +Mother Sheila Wharmby and Father John Hyde on their respective appointments as Prior and Warden of the Apostolic Society of St Brigid of Kildare. I am sure that they will do a splendid job in guiding the society into the future. It is also a great pleasure that +Mother Elizabeth Stuart, as Mother Founder, will continue in an advisory capacity (as per the Rule), and I am sure we thank her very much for continuing to fan the sacred flames during the recent months. I know that they will all be in our prayers.
This has been an interesting and challenging newsletter to edit, for the simple reason that liturgically and spiritually the period January-March is rich in so many inspiring traditions and customs. If anything, I have probably sought to gaze into a pool to reflect on who we are as Brigidine Sisters and Brothers, and have found that the pool is fed from tributaries near, far and wide.
This is our newsletter, and I would encourage as many as possible to contribute, who wish to. Feedback is also always welcome.
For those who would prefer to receive a hard-copy of The Flame, some copies are available. If you wish to leave feedback, comments or suggestions about The Flame, please leave a message via the contacts page on this web-site.
