10 YR ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING

OF THE SOCIETY.

The society is 10yrs old today. It does not seem possible that we have reached this milestone. Many things have happened to us personally and together as a society over the years but together we continue to strive to follow the example of St Brigid  and live out the outrageous hospitality of God .

Prayer is vital in our ever changing world today and as we all we are joined together to be a powerhouse of prayer for the needs of the world  we are bonded more deeply to each other .

Our Love , prayers and thanks go to Mother Founder for her guidance and inspiration to us over the years.

We shall be celebrating our Anniversary with a mass and dinner hosted by our Mother Founder on the 19th November at Eastleigh.

May God bless us all as we continue to follow the example of St Brigid.

VISIT TO GLASTONBURY.

Mother Founder and I very much enjoyed our visit to Glastonbury . The Abbey ruins were as always wonderful. To walk in the footsteps of those who worshiped there many many years ago was humbling yet inspirational.

We also managed to climb the Tor and sample the magnificent vies over Glastonbury. Also we did try to visit St Margaret's Chapel where we once celebrated mass as an order in the town but sadly it was closed for refurbishment.Hopefully we may be able to celebrate mass there again in the future.

Mother Founder and myself are hoping that as many members as possible will be able to join us for a day in Glastonbury on Wednesday the 7th September. We did visit Glastonbury there a few years ago and had a really enjoyable time so we look forward to revisiting all the places of interest there.

Also we hope to soon  have news of our celebrations for our 10th anniversary.

Thank you to Revd Simon for setting up our face book pages.

MAJOR CHAPTER MEETING 2011

The Chapter meeting began with a shared lunch followed by mass and the acceptance of  Rev'd Simon Mapp as a novice and the profession of the Rev'd Helen Hamilton. The chapter meeting was very positive. We hope to visit several places this year and as this is our 10th anniversary year we are planning a Eucharist  and dinner. More news on this later. We have decided to have a page on face book and Rev'd Simon will do this for us.We are also planning to produce a prayer book and a recipe book and Father Andrew will collate this for us.

MAJOR CHAPTER MEETING 2011

the Major Chapter Meeting will take place on the13th March 2011 home  Mother Prior's home commencing at 1pm.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of a former member of ssb. Mother Iris Lee.

Iris was made a cleric by our Mother Founder and is the first member of ssb to pass to the higher life. Mother Iris was always a very supportive member and we continue to pray for the soul of Mother Iris and for her husband Father Ray in his grief. The funeral was held on Friday the 2nd July at Southampton crematorium and it was attended by our Mother Founder and four other members of the order.

MAJOR CHAPTER MEETING 2010

The Chapter meeting began with mass and the meeting that followed was very uplifting. After the meeting we all enjoyed a shared lunch. A decision was taken to try and visit several places this year including A Buddhist monastery  and Glastonbury. My thanks to all who attended
