Welcome to our website

Hi to the Members of TPC

Following on from the current situation with regard to the use of the Range during the implemented social isolation and reduced activity/travel period to help combat the spread of COVID-19 and with regard to the information available through both Queensland Health and Weapon Licencing Branch the executive have the following recommendations and requirements for the continued restricted use of the Range complex.

  1. The Range is open for commercial use;
  2. The Range is CLOSED to organised competitions by any member of any standing;
  3. The Range is available for shooting activities for the purpose of exercise;
  4. The Range is available for the purposes of paid coaching on a one on one basis;
  5. These allowances are subject to change and/or any direction or instruction given contrary to this advice by any authorised body is to be immediately adhered to and the executive advised of such instruction.

In relation to this advice the following should also be taken into account.

  1. No one is to be on the Range without correctly signing in;
  2. The limitation of social distancing will apply with regard a 2 person maximum allowable on each individual Range with minimum 1.5m distancing to apply between those persons;
  3.  No larger gathering than this number is to take place at any time within the Range complex area.
  4. Consideration should be given to the recommendation for self-isolation for those above the age cap as advised by Queensland Health;
  5. Weapons licencing have decreed that the period 1 March 2020 to 30 June 2020 to be interrupted for the purposes of Category H competition participation, you do not have to shoot during this period and this is to be reviewed in early June by WLB.

There is further information available on the QPS Weapons Licencing web site home page and I would urge all to take a look though.

Licence Renewals and PTAs can still proceed but purchasing and appropriation of firearms will have to wait until the restrictions are lifted.

Further in relation to the ban on gathering and the current hiatus the Committee Meeting scheduled for Sunday 05 April 2020 will be postponed until a date in June once further information and/or restrictions are known.

We also request for everyone to please relax and follow the requirements of instructions issued by Queensland Health and WLB, information is available on both web sites and easily found.  Please remember that the Committee members are individuals and with nearly 500 members it takes a great deal of time to constantly have calls and emails requesting information that is easily available, also we cannot undertake any action outside of the restrictions and guidelines laid down this is unfortunate but will eventually pass and with our health intact ready to get underway again.
