Henk lives in the Dordogne, France and it is here that he creates birds weighing between 10kg and 100kg. They are  made of steel elements recuperated from used agricultural implements.

He likes the freedom, elegance and romance of flight and when he looks at the aerodynamic shape of a pair of ploughshares he sees the wings of a bird.

Henk habite à Montcaret en Dordogne,  il fait des sculptures d’oiseaux (par fois
jusqu’a100kg) avec des éléments d’acier de matériels agricoles récuperér .

Il apprécie la liberté, l’élégance et la romance du vol et quand il regarde la forme aérodynamique d’une paire de versoirs de charrue, il les prend pour les ailes d’un oiseau.

                              

Henk was born in the Netherlands in 1950 but lived in South Africa from 1954 until 1997 where he completed his studies in civil engineering. After some years in the engineering field, he started his own company where he  worked together with architects on numerous construction and housing projects.

He and his wife Elisabeth take a keen interest in birding. They especially enjoy spotting the extraordinary ones that can be found in places like the Kruger National  Park.

Né au Pays Bas en 1950, il a vécu   en Afrique du Sud entre 1954 et 1997 où il a fait ses études de génie civil.  Il a également travaillé sur différents projets de construction avec des architectes et a réalisé des habitations originales.

Avec sa femme, Elisabeth, il pu apprécier l’abondance des oiseaux, surtout dans le parc Kruger .
