To help the lady with the scratched stair carpet. You need to make sure they have a scratching post somewhere in the house. You can put it on the stairs if you like. Also, they hate sellotape and strong smalls such as lemon. If you put sellotape or lemon juice where they normally scratch they wont do it any more. Good luck. If you dont wnat to do any of these then get a water spray and spray them every time they scratch or do something naughty. They will soon get the message. Tina.

This is my first visit and I am truly impressed. What a great site - many congratulations to all involved. How about adding a Tips & Hints Page?

Perhaps the first topic could be: How to stop your cat from completely destroying the stair carpet? I love my 3 rescue cats dearly but wish I could find a way to prevent them from using the staircase as a giant feline scratching post.

Good luck to all the cats in your excellent care.

Kind regards, Lynne Cornish

I'm hoping to buy a kitten soon, me and my mum are really interested in cats. The only problem is we have a dog that is a bit of a nutter, if anyone has any advice for me it would be much appreciated!

As Capricorn isn't on the site any more, does this mean she has been chosen? I do hope so, she is a lovely cat.

Is it possible that you could have a section for lost cats? My cat DeeJay has been missing from the Balcombe area for some months now. Her photo is on the Haywards Heath Cats Protection site now. A little more publicity though would be very welcome. She is eleven years old and I got her from Cats Protection over seven years ago. She is black, fluffy with large round eyes. I cannot understand why nobody has reported her despite my circulating leaflets to almost all the households in the village. Could you copy her photo over from the HH branch on to yours?
Regards.
B. Curtis

Eight years ago I took in an elderly black tom who strayed into my garden and never left. He had torn ears and battle scars all over his face but the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen. I adored him from day one and gradually he learned that humans could be trusted and became a wonderful companion. Sadly I lost him earlier this year.If you're thinking of re-homing a cat don't overlook the Black ones like our Henry, he wouldn't have been most people's first choice but to me he was the loveliest cat I have ever had the good fortune to share my life with. I miss him still.

Thought you might like to see another one of my babies. His name is Snoop and he went to live with my brother and his wife. He is a beautiful big cat now but this was back when he was too small to know he looked silly!!
