CRITICAL INSURANCE NOTICE
Please Read

On January 14, 2005 new legislation was imposed by the FSA (Financial services Authority) which has had the effect that cat breeders are no longer able to give out free insurance with our kittens. Petplan have also taken this opportunity to "move the goalposts" without informing breeders in advance. All free policies given out by Petplan (which now have to be at the owners request) now carry a 7 day illness exclusion, meaning that when  your kitten leaves us - even WITH Petplan instant policies - they are not covered for illness symptoms within the first 7 days. They will still be covered for accidents with immediate effect, just not illness.

Whilst any reputable breeder would not dream of parting with a kitten that they know to be ill, this first week can be a period of strain on a young kitten and also its immune system, and they can occasionally become ill before the 7 day exclusion period has expired, and the breeder could not possibly have known. For example, some of the cat flus have an incubation period of just 5 days, meaning a kitten can catch the disease and start showing symptoms before the 7 day exclusion period.

Cat breeders and clubs are lobbying Petplan to reverse this frightening decision. We are working together to ensure that the kittens we have raised with much love leave here FULLY protected.

In the meantime, I wish to warn everybody considering purchasing a kitten to be especially vigilant, and to discuss this aspect with the breeder before buying.

Insurance is always strongly recommended by me at all times, but kittens are more accident and illness prone than adults. Vets bills can be horrendously expensive. Be warned and be prepared. To search for a good pet insurer, go to this site.
