Short Break Tuscany

Horseback escape

Escape the fast paced city, and ride through the best of Tuscany on our three night, four day horseback escape package. Discover the beauty of the vineyards, San Vivaldo convent, the Roman cistern, and our natural thermal pools on the back of one of our well trained horses. Non riders and novices are also welcome.

Accommodation on this trip is in the Belmonte estate. The view from your refurbished farmhouse room, is of the stunning Val d Elsa Valley. The swimming pool with hydro massage,tennis courts, mountain bikes, and natural thermal springs allow guests the chance relax in the Tuscan sunshine after riding in style.

Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at the estate. Before dinner, you will have a chance to meet other guests and have an introduction to the next few days at activities and events

Day 2:The day begins by meeting your horse and a ten minute briefing on our style of horsemanship in the arean. We then embark on a full day ride to San Vivaldo convent, where we will lunch in the nearby village before carrying on to the Roman Cistern archeolgical site. We return back to the estate via San Leonardos mineral rich terrain. Afterwards chill out back at the farm, take a wander through the olive groves, or relax by the pool. Dinner together at the Tuscan restaurant in the heart of the village.

Day 3:The ride today is to Castelfalfi and Tonda, both stunning medieval hamlets with panoramic views. We ride through the famous woods of Iano, once treachorous trails when feuding kingdoms sought to use their materials for the art of glass blowing.We ride home through a large deer estate, and near to the rive Egola. Riders will have a picnic, complete with Tuscan cheeses, salamis, desserts and coffee. The afternoon is dedicated to exploring the countryside, riding past abandoned farmhouses, rustic hamlets, and natural forest beauty. After riding relax by the poolside with a glass of Proseco. Dinner at Iano in the restaurant.


Day 4:After a typical Tuscan breakfast, transportation to the train station or airport is organized.
