A Loved One is not gone, until they are forgotten!
And to Live in the Hearts of those
left behind is to Live Forever.

"DJ" came to us with no manners, terrible coat and skin, and no people skills. When I saw him at Rescue, my heart went out to this beautiful boy. I knew he was to be mine. In the five short years we had him "Love" turned him into my "biggest", sweet loveable boy with a stunning coat and tail. He was my first "heart" dog that to this day occupies my mind, soul and heart
I'll always Love you,DJ, Dad. (David Becker)

Pipers "eyes of love" that greeted me every single day.  She had just lost her owner to cancer, and I my beloved DJ. She was depressed and heartbroken. We talked together in the back yard of rescue, and bonded instantly. Lady Piper Valentine was her name, but she was just Piper to me. Deeply devoted to me , she became my second "heart" dog. She lived every waking second just to be "with her Dad" I never have been loved so intensely by an animal in my life.

I lost her suddenly after two and a half short years together. She was my everything. I am so grateful to God for sharing her with me, she was such a special dog, and until you rescue a Golden, you just won't understand. She will always be the greatest love of my life
I love you baby, Dad.....David Becker

"Arthur" - had been dumped by his previous owners.  CGRR was contacted to come and get him.

Through the following many years he was deeply loved and a special member of the family to Ken & Ruth Woods.

He is greatly missed and has left a big hole in their hearts.

"Barkley" came to live with us unexpectedly when his first owner could no
longer give him a home.  In all respects, he was a large dog … large in
size, large in spirit, and large in the love he lavished upon us.  Equally
large was the hole in our hearts when he left us after 10 years.  We will
always cherish the time we had with him and the joy he gave us daily.  Our
lives are much richer for having had Barkley with us.
We love you and will never forget you.
(Susan & Mike Kirk)

"Dusty" was a retired racing greyhound who came to be loved and cared for by a BIG family.
He was the resident blood donor for Midway Animal Hospital.   Consequently he had an entire staff plus their families at his beck and call!!

Dusty had an aggressive form of cancer that ultimately would take his life.   But he lived to be 14 yrs old (quite old for a greyhound), for which all of us at Midway are greatful for.

By his gift of blood he helped many, many other cherished family members get better and be able to go home well again.

Rest well Dusty -- you were big in body, soul and personality and will be missed dearly!

Rudolph Valentino Littlefield (aka: Rudy) left this earth on Dec 15th, 2008 after having been a good dog to his masters for the past 7 ½ years of his 8 years on earth. Rescued as an unwanted male from a dirt kennel, Rudy had nothing but love in his heart- love of humans and other doggies.

Rudy was certified as a Therapy dog with TDI in Jan 2008, however due to his handlers illness, never got the chance to visit as a TDI dog- instead he became his masters Therapy dog. Rudy liked swimming in the Bay but never in the pool. Rudy LOVED to howl at sirens (even in his sleep) and we will both miss him very much (and think of him whenever we hear a siren).

Ralph and Debbie Littlefield OH Yea- Lady (Aunt B) too!!!

"Rocky" came to live with the Cornell's at 13.5 yrs old.

How a dog can become a "rescue" at the age is uncomprehendable to all of us!!

Here he is at 15.5 yrs old.  He has since passed away and is greatly missed!

"Penny" was adopted through Golden rescue.  She was heartworm positive, had several tumors and was a senior girl already (age unknown).  Her wonderful personality saved her!  She was originally named "Sweetie", and with good reason.

Much of her short 3.5 yrs with us was spent at the vets.  1275 days is much too short a time to spend with our best friend.   She went everywhere with us.  Penny has sniffed flowers in Maryland, walked on the beach in Maine, visited Niagara Falls (where she was the attraction to all the children who came to meet and pet her).   Everywhere she went, she made friends!

Our tears have not stopped; our hearts will always ache.
Penny here's to you, we celebrate your life.
Deeply missed:  Mom & Dad Krieger

"Goldie" was old, tired and just didn't have the fight in her anymore. She was ready. I just want to thank Jill and Scott for giving Goldie such a loving home for many years.

She has had bad skin, bad ears and I think she has been an old soul forever. But the Cornell's always have the saying  (always room for one more).  So when Goldie needed a home they came right down.

She had so many problems we knew she would never get adopted, so she stole the hearts of Jill and Scott and all the furry buddy's she helped raise, love and play with.
Goldie run with the rest now, we will see you at the bridge. Ellen
