Amazing "Gracie" rescued from a puppy mill - follow her recovery below!
YIPEEE - Gracie has been adopted!!!
Everyone meet Amazing Grace (Gracie); she was located at a puppy mill. The owner died, no one knows when and lots of dogs were left to starve. Gracie is only 40 # and in very bad shape, but sweet as sweet can be!!
Jill and Scott Cornell, one of our wonderful foster couples, were so kind as to go all the way to Pasco to pick up this poor soul.
Gracie seems young 2-3 yrs old and only 40 # . We gave her what seems like her first bath, she was dirty, smelly, and flea and tick infested.
We have done blood work and will know Thursday about those results.
She is the sweetest thing! Right now she can hardly stand, she is so weak and scared.
But, we are sure that with good care, food and medical attention and lots and lots of love, she will come around and be a great girl!
First bath?
Not too sure about this "human holding" thing! :((
This is all very strange to me.....
Gracie headed home with CGRR's founder Ellen for the weekend. She is currently needing many small meals through out the day and evening, consequently they did not want her at the clinic over the weekend.

Update on Little Miss Gracie from Ellen:
The sweet little personality is starting to come out. She is stealing Denver's ball, he looks at her like, that's my ball..... but he wouldn't think of trying to take it back, she parades around with her head high strutting like a queen, She's also taking the leash in her mouth and tells you were she wants to go. She's playing tug with the leash, and this morning she barked for the first time. She was in the cage while I was feeding my guys, she of course had already eaten the first of her many meals. She wanted to get out and first whinnied and when that didn't work she barked... So I would think that means she is starting to feel better. Go Gracie !!!!! She is truly AMAZING.

Gracie had a MAJOR break through today, she came out into the house on her own , stayed out visiting with us and the dogs. She also did a meet and greet at Midway Animal Hospital this morning , saying good morning to all the staff when they arrived, and also said good bye at the end of the day.
Gracie has gained 10 pounds now is well on her way to good health both physically and emotionally. They still want her to gain some more before she has her surgerys. And she needs to get far more socialization , this is major but it's also a baby steps. But when you stop to think we have only had her for two weeks it's amazing... That's our "Amazing Grace"
Well GREAT news, Gracie is going to her new home tomorrow! Hester Clow lives in Inverness, and has been a generous supporter of Citrus Golden Retriever Rescue for some time now.
Hester has two beautiful Golden girls, a three year old and a five year old.
Gracie went for a meet and greet today, and Gracie said it's home, the girls loved her and she them.
Gracie is now spayed, got her health clearances from the doctors so she is good to go. It is a rags to riches story that's for sure. We love her very much and because we love her we must now say good bye.
We will all be able to see her often, since she will be living in Inverness.
#15 pounds heavier then when she arrived with a shine to her coat and heading to a new home!
Gracie sure has quite the life now and she deserves it 100%!!!
