Blogging on the web
Blogs in interactive communication

A Blog (abbreviation from weblog) is a website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order.

It can also be described as a personal on-line diary. It gives everybody the possibility to be a published.

By November 2006 at least 80 million Blogs already existed in the world.

Blogs are used for many purposes. Many politicians use them in their work, not least in election campaigns. They have in particular been very important in American politics. Many people also use them to give their comments to events and developments. Or to present and discuss their interests.

You can also use Blogs for dissemination of news. This happened during the Tsunami disaster. And it happens now in Iraq, where American soldiers use Blogs to inform about non-classified events and to corect much of the distorted news, which they believe circulate about the situation in the country.
