Thought you were one of the best bands on the day and could not understand where the judges were coming from with a lot of their placings. How Rolls Royce were so low was a mystery when you heard the bands that went before them but got placed much higher.

Great effort Corby. You should have been much higher! Better luck next time.

Typical contest result all round! Without naming names we were amazed that a band with a principal cornet that completely fluffed the opening and a euph section so far out of tune at times ended up in the top three - anyone smell fish? Well done Corby you were true to yourselves and deserved a better result (a view supported by several audience members from other bands). A slighly nervy start was quickly put behind you and a good performance resulted. Here's hoping that the adjudicator won't throw away his notes with his sandwich wrappings next time and have to resort to guesswork!! Keep up the good work! B. J. & R.

Are we downhearted about the results from Bedworth?? No!!!!!!!! The only thing we should feel downhearted about is the poor hearing skills of the adjudicators (or the fact that they mixed our comments up with another band's). Our sound was great, some fantastic feedback from people in the audience who clearly had better hearing than the adjudicators, and I'm proud of your performance. Well done and see you all next Wednesday. Keith

Fantastic result today!! Really well deserved after all the hard work and a credit to your professionalism. Above all it rewarded your confidence in each other and the continuing development over the last year, particularly of your younger players who have learned so much playing alongside the more experienced members.

Congratulations to you all on your 3rd place at the Leics Association contest today - well done! Enjoy your celebrations (not too much diet coke Amanda!)

Just visited your site for the first time. It really is a great site, well done to whoever! I used to play for C.S.B when I left GUS in the 60s. Played when Bert Sullivan conducted and the band won the 3rd section finals although Ernie Denton conducted the band that day. "Land of the Ever Young" by Granville Bantock. I still have my winners medal.
