Making friends
We are a very sociable group, who enjoy having a drink and good old chat after rehearsals. We make full use of the facilities at the Silver Band Club, which include, bar, lounge, entertainment hall, and of course the band room where we store our equipment when it is not in use.
Corby Silver Band is made up of a wide range of musicians - the youngest being 12, and the oldest ..... well, we stopped counting at 75 !
During recent years the band club has proved to be a great place to make some brilliant friends, and in some cases, partners !
Mr & Mrs Beale
First there were Pete & Amanda, (Euphonium and 1st Baritone), who got married in 2004.

Followed by Sandra and Lloyd, (Solo and 1st horn), who were married a year later.

Birthdays
Kayleigh, one of our resident front row cornet players had a great time, along with other members of the band at her "Sweet sixteen" birthday party. We strutt our stuff on the dance floor each year at Bill's birthday bash!

Becky's 16th birthday
Becky Maglone (Solo Trombone) turned 16 on a band night, so rather than miss band practise, Becky's dad Gary bought her birthday cake up to the rehearsal so she could share it with the rest of the band. Ahhh !!
Becky proving she did manage to get at least one piece of her birthday cake.

Dave's 40th
This year - 2007, Dave Ashby celebrated his 40th birthday, which took many of us by suprise, as we thought he had turned 40 years ago !!! Only joking Dave He celebrated in style - that is his lovely wife Elaine, organised a surprise barbecue for him and of course Dave being Dave had no idea.
