Frequently asked questions
Questions
These are some of the most frequently asked questions about Corby Silver Band.

Can anybody join?
Yes, providing you can regularly attend rehearsals on Wednesday evenings and are able to play a brass or percussion instrument.  There is no minimum or maximum age for players.

Do I need my own instrument?
No, Corby Silver Band has a wide selection of good quality spare instruments.

How much will it cost me?
Nothing, as Corby Silver Band has its own purpose built club, there is no need to pay for a rehearsal room in another building.  You will only need money if you want to buy refreshments during the break.

What if I know someone who can't play an instrument, but would like to learn?
Many of the members in the band have joined following a sucessful training period in our junior band.  Rehearsals for a beginners group will begin again, when needed.

Where is the club?
The Corby Silver Band Club is situated on Denford Road, Corby, www.multimap.com, (behind the Kingfisher Public House, and opposite Pytchley Court shops).

There are other local brass bands in the area.  Why should I choose Corby Silver?
The answer to this one is to attend a rehearsal and see how you get on.  The members who have joined recently have been very positive about the experience, enjoy the rehearsals and are very enthusiastic and motivated and keen to attend every week. The number of band numbers is still continuing to grow.  We currently have 24 musicians in the band.  The members of Corby Silver band are friendly, fun, lively, but also very hard working.  And now we have a new committed Musical Director, who is keen to support younger members and see the band make good progress.
