Hallo Marijke,

Hello Marijcke,
I have been devouring your book "Wild Flowers of the UAE" with enthusiasm and excitement. I too am a landscape architect, working for a German company called Atelier Dreiseitl. We are designing a large park in Abu Dhabi, and are keen to use as many native plants as possible. We are looking for an expert who could advise us on using native plants for landscaping. We are calling our irrigation concept "water wise lush", currently we intend on giving periodic deep watering at night to try and achieve a green garden atmosphere with native and drought tolerant non-natives, but will also have areas with no irrigation. Some key plants we would like to work with are amongst others Silene villosa and other annuals, Rhanterium eppaposum, Aerva javanica, and Zygophyllum quatense.
I would be very interested in having your expert assitance, if you are in the south of France you are not that far away from us. I would be happy to send you some material on the project and our current plant canditate list. Greatly look forward to hearing from you,
Jessica Read

Dear Ms. Jongbloed,
Hello, I am trying to reach Claus Mueller, who worked with my father Sam Hess in Iran during the 1970s. I would like to contact Mr. Mueller regarding a project of mine. Would you be able to pass my info along to him, or send me his email? thanks very much,

Dear Marijcke Jongbloed,
Our records indicate certain images owned or represented by you have appeared in National Geographic Magazine at some point in the past and we would like to confirm your contact information so that we may send you a license request for our digital archive project.
The only contact information for you is an email address that isn't working.(mjongbld@emirates.net.ae) Could you email me and include current contact information? We do have a project deadline in February.
National Geographic appreciates your cooperation and prompt response.

Hartelijke groet,
David

Hey Marijcke,
You probably don't remember me, but I'm Joost and Liet's daughter Margit. We've seen each other years ago when your parents lived in Son. I know you still have contact with Tante Els and so do I.
My father passed in August of 1999 and my mother this past June. I know both your parents have passed too. My mother had told me that before she got Alzheimner's disease.
I live in North Carolina with my husband who is American. I work for 911 in Durham and my husband is the CSO of a small company named LAAM Science in Raleigh. We have 2.5acres and live in an old farmhouse with our cat, wire haired Dachshund and 2 German Shepherds.
Hope to hear from you whenever you have the time.
Margit

I have come across an article you wrote a few years ago in which you mention "A wonderful book by Anthony G. Miller, illustrated with beautiful drawings by Miranda Morris describes many of the unique plants of the Dhofar and gives interesting information about traditional economic and medicinal uses (Plants of Dhofar, ISBN 0 7157 0808-2)"
http://www.alshindagah.com/Novdec2005/dhofar.html
Not that it matters, but just for the record, the illustrations are by me, Susanna Stuart-Smith. Miranda Morris, my sister, wrote most of the text, and Tony Miller wrote the botanical entries. I'm glad you liked the book.

Dear Marijcke,
Your website is so creative...like you! I enjoyed looking through the pictures, and was delighted to see you included one of the pictures you took of me for my album! (Oh for the firm breasts and chin of yesteryear!) You did great work back then, and you were only getting started! I loved the pictures you took in black and white of my son, David, eating plums. Remember? It was fun to see our favorite dentist in that, also. He crowned me with many golden crowns in those days, and the dentists here still rave about his work!
I celebrate with you the beauty you have added to this world, and also to my life. Though continents separate us, I am and will always remain...
Your friend,
Cheryl
