**NEW ACQUISITION** - 3 year old chestnut gelding KINGS ACADEMY joins the Derbyshire Racing string!!

Kings Academy shortly after he arrived at the yard on 25 September 2017

DERBYSHIRE RACING are delighted to announce the arrival of a new acquisition to join our string of horses, the ex Paul Cole trained 3 year old chestnut gelding KINGS ACADEMY

By the talented sprinter Mayson, Kings Academy has shown he possesses plenty of ability, having won well over 5f at Leicester in August 2017 and placing in 8 of his other starts. He stays 6f and 7f well and based on his last run at Leicester should have no problem staying 1m. He looks a progressive type, similar to our 5 time winner Custard the Dragon was at this stage of his career.

Currently rated 67, Kings Academy is a strong and robust gelding that acts on good and soft going as well the AW and we think he will prove to be an excellent acquisition for the syndicate.

Shares now available priced at £500 for a 5% stake plus £95 a month to cover all training and racing expenses. 10% shares at £1000 upfront and a discounted monthly of £170, saving £20 a month. A limited number of 2.5% shares are availble priced at £250 upfront and £50 a month.

Please enquire for further details on how to get involved in him.

Homebred mare Inflexiball get off the mark at Doncaster!!

Homebred mare Inflexiball being lead into the Doncaster winners enclosure by her lad Joey.

After a number of near misses our 5 year old homebred mare INFLEXIBALL deservedly broke her maiden tag at Doncaster last Saturday evening when winning the 1m2f fillies and mares handicap under a determind ride by Luke Morris.

Inflexiball, out of our former race mare Sphere, had run some great races in defeat since making her Derbyshire Racing debut as a 3 year old but had been a little unlucky not to have found herself in the winners enclosure. However, that all changed on Saturday 1st July 17 with a gutsy display in the final furlong, wearing down the leader close home to win by a neck.

The front two pulled well clear of the 3rd and now she has got her head in front we hope there will be more to come, both on the flat and eventually over hurdles.

Custard the Dragon wins his 4th race at Southwell!!

Custard the Dragon beating the in-form Call Out Loud when winning the Class 3 7f handicap at Southwell on 4 April 2017 under Ben Curtis

CUSTARD THE DRAGON made it an incredible 4 wins from just 5 starts at Southwell last Tuesday when taking the Class 3 7f handicap under a well judged ride from Ben Curtis.

Always travelling well in a small field, Custard challenged the long time leader Call Out Loud 2f out and after a sustained battle forged ahead close home to win by a neck.

This horse never does more than he needs to when hitting the front and its possible he could continue to improve this season.

Custard the Dragon kicks off 2017 in great style by winning again at Southwell!!

Custard holds off his rivals to win the Class 4 7f handicap at Southwell on 2 January 2017 under Joe Fanning

After winning by just the minimum margin on his last venture to Southwell CUSTARD THE DRAGON won the 7f handicap at Southwell on 2nd January a shade more cosily under a confident ride by the excellent Joe Fanning.

Held up off a decent pace, Custard sat midfield into the straight but once asked to improve he covered the ground well and was a good winner up in grade to a Class 4.

He is progressing nicely and should give the syndicate lots of enjoyment during the year, both on AW and when he switches back to turf.
