DERBYSHIRE RACING also have a successful breeding programme
in place. Below is a brief description of the broodmares and their progeny to date :
IMPECCABLE GUEST, a bay mare by Orpen, looked to be an exciting recruit to the jumping game in the 2006/2007 season when winning her first two
hurdle races but had some niggling training problems thereafter and was retired from racing in 2009 to become a broodmare for Derbyshire Racing.
She produced a
beautiful filly foal for us on 28 April 2010 by the leading British first season sire in 2008 Lucky Story, sire of Group One winner Art Connoisseur. Her filly, called IMPECCABILITY,
broke her maiden tag at Uttoxeter in 2016 after a host of near misses and has now been retired from racing.
She also has a 5 year filly by the 2000 Guineas and Eclipse Stakes winner Refuse to Bend called SECOND GUEST (now retired).
SPHERE, a well bred mare
by the top class racehorse and sire Daylami, was formerly trained by James Fanshawe at Newmarket and won once
and was placed 9 times on the flat, including a very good 2nd to future Doncaster Cup winner Askar Tau at Yarmouth.
She was a consistent sort that descends from a top notch staying family. She, like Impeccable Guest, has a 6 year old filly by Refuse To Bend called
the winner of two races over 1m2f for Derbyshire Racing in the summer of 2017 and she will go hurdling during 2018/19.
AVAILABLE. the winner of 7 races for Derbyshire Racing and 8 in all, has a 2 year old filly by the Mickley
Stud sprint sire Heeraat. She has been broken in and is in training with John Mackie. She should be the type to make an early season 2 year old in 2019.
