Kantara Castle (center) trotting back after work with stablemates Hallstatt (left), Impeccability (part obscured) and Arizona John (rear) - 1 February 2014
Its been a bit quiet quiet of late, with our horses being prepared with the upcoming turf season in mind and those that have been running
during the winter re-charging their batteries. Here is the latest news going forward:
Arizona John has
been back in full work for several months now and he isn't too far off being ready for a run on the AW. After being off the track for 9 months the plan would be to get him in back fit and well for the start of the turf season but based on his work at home
he seems as good as ever at the age of nine. Fingers crossed this 8 time winner can add to his impressive win tally for us in 2014. **2.5%
or 5% share available at £125 per 2.5% and £45 or £90 a month respectively**
Illustrious
Forest has been out walking and trotting and is being trained specifically with turf in mind for 2014, which be exciting as he has only had the
one run for us on turf to date. After another couple of weeks of road work he will commence cantering with the aim of having him fit and ready for the turf season once we get some decent ground . He has won 5 races for us on the AW and if he can transfer that
form on to turf we can look forward to an exciting spring and summer with him, with the option for summer jumping to come too.
Available has been kept ticking
over since her last run in early January and with the turf season in mind we have backed off her to give the batteries a re-charge. She will likely be campaigned pretty much as per last year, kicking off on the AW in March/April then progressing to the turf
when conditions become suitable. Trip wise it seems she needs 7f nowadays unless it’s a really stiff 6f and she should be capable of adding to her 3 wins for us to date. **2.5%, 5% and 10% shares available at £250
per 2.5% and £45, £90 or £160 a month respectively**
Impeccability has also just been ticking over recently after being busy on the AW. We are planning to run her more often on turf this season, hopefully there will be more options for her as a 4 year old and as she is still growing there should be plenty of
improvement to come. Her 2nd place at Wolves over Christmas proved that she is going the right way and her last run can be forgiven as we are sure it came to soon for her. Going forward she is nicely handicapped and with her attitude to racing we are sure
she will win races for us. **2.5%, 5% or a 10% share available at £125 per 2.5% and £45, £90 or £160 a month respectively**
Keep Calm has been going very nicely on the gallops and we will be stepping up his work regime very shortly with a view to
having him ready to make his debut for Derbyshire Racing in mid March. He is a very willing horse and clean winded so once fully fit he wont take loads of work to keep him in good shape. They really like him at the yard and we are looking forward to seeing
him racing in our colours - an exciting prospect on the flat and potentially over hurdles too. **2.5%, 5% or a 10% share available at £300 per 2.5% and £45, £90 or £160 a month respectively**
Kantara Castle has settled in very well and was gelded a couple of weeks ago, which went fine without any issues. He has been on the walker since and once we feel he is ready he will be brought back into full training. He was already
race fit prior to his operation so should'nt take an awful lot of getting ready and as he had been busy on the AW during the winter the mini-break comes at an ideal time before the turf get underway. Another exciting prospect for us for the new season ahead. **2.5%, 5% or a 10% share available at £200 per 2.5% and £45, £90 or £160 a month respectiely**
Aegean Destiny - We are still considering options with her since retirement from racing but we may be interested
in setting up a breeding syndicate if we can get enough interest. She has a cracking pedigree and was a tough and genuine racemare and also very sound, having had over 50 races. We would be very keen on having her covered by the sire Multiplex, the same sire as our yearling
out of Sphere, who we really like. The sire stands at 16.1 hands, a good size, and produces two year old types as well as horses that progress with age and we feel he would be an ideal sire for her with his equally excellent pedigree. Regarding costs it would
be £20 a month per 2.5% plus your %age of the covering fee, which will probably be around £1500 mark. Get in touch if you may be interested for further details via our Contact
Us page.
Second Guest and Inflexiball,
our homebred 2 year old fillies, have been on the walker for the past couple of weeks and will commence ridden road work soon. We would imagine that they will be galloping at a decent pace by around April time and we will have a good idea of how forward
they are around that time. At the moment the thought is that Second Guest will be more of a two year old type, being smaller and closely coupled, but we will just have to see once they are in full work in the Spring. **2.5%
and 5% shares available in both horses at £250 per 2.5% and £45 or £90 a month respectively**
Yearling filly by Multiplex - She is fine but not too much to report on her at this stage. As we have said before we are really pleased with her, she is
a good size and we look forward to seeing how she develops as a yearling. She looks an exciting prospect based on her physical appearance and very much one to look forward too for the future. **2 x 2.5% and 1 x 5% shares
available at £250 per 2.5% and £20 or £40 a month respectively**
