The idea for Kinda Cakes first came about in 1999 when I had my first child. I was given some beautiful presents including chocolates, flowers, nappies and clothing items. I am very creative and one day while my husband was at work I set about gathering together some of my daughters baby items, such as baby wraps and singlets and socks and started to play around with when, eventually I came up with something that resembled a cake.
When my husband arrived home he saw my creation sitting on the bench top in the kitchen. The first thing he said was " That looks like a cake". I thought to myself if my husband thinks it looks like a cake then then I hoped everyone else would see that too.
My idea didn't get much further than that until my cousins wife had a baby and I set about creating a pink cake for their new little girl. Once seen word of mouth travelled fast and that is how Kinda Cakes was born.
