UCDX UAGI GERACE'S BOOMER RANG A DANG UD, CGC 7-2-94 - 7-11-07
Where it all began....

On July 2, 1994, Boomer came into the world and at that time, I did not realize the impact he would have on mine!  From the moment he picked up my car key's at 6 weeks and trotted off with them, he trotted off with my heart!  Boomer has been the best introduction into Golden Retrievers a person could ever ask for!  He has a heart of gold and is everyone's friend.

I quickly discovered the "games" I could play with Boomer both in obedience and agility.  From the time he first stepped into the AKC & UKC obedience rings, all the way through until he was "titled"....he was in the "ribbons"..!!

Some of Boomer's accomplishments include:

AKC Companion Dog Title- October 12, 1997
Golden Retriever Club of Illinois- 1997 Byron Trophy Winner
(Highest Scoring Dog in Novice A)
Peoria Obedience Training Club- 1997 Top Novice A Dog
AKC Companion Dog Excellent Title- November 1, 1998
Peoria Obedience Training Club-1997 Top Open A Dog
AKC Utility Dog Title- March 23, 2002
UKC Companion Dog Title- April 25, 1998
UKC Companion Dog Excellent Title- November 22, 1998
First & Foremost "Honorable Mention" Award Winner 1998
UKC AG-I Title- November 21, 1999
BOOMER HAD A BLAST!
Boomer's last official "ring" performance was in November of 2004.  We showed in Veterans Obedience at the Golden Retriever Club of Illinois’ Specialty and I am very proud to say that Boomer took 2nd place with a score of 194!  He had a blast…the judge loved him…and the crowd loved him!

In September of 2006, Boomer made the journey with me to the 2006 Golden Retriever National where he participated and was honored in the "Parade of Titleholders!"  It was a very special night!

For Every Beginning...There Must Come an End.....
Boomer turned 13 years old on July 2nd, 2007.  Just 9 days later, on July 11, 2007, I helped my boy to the "bridge."  He was tired.....very tired.  It was the most difficult decision I have ever had to make.  While I knew he would leave me one day, I was not prepared emotionally for the magnitude of the loss.  Those whose souls are not "touched" by dogs (or any animal for that matter)....probably will never understand.  But that is okay.  Their loss.

Because Boomer was my  Golden Retriever "beginning," I don't plan on ever removing his "page" from this site or taking down his pictures.  He started the "story" and his story deserves to live on.........as he will live "forever" in my heart.

Rest Well Boomer.....You were the BEST there ever could be!
