And then there were two...
My second boy, Chilly came into the world on November 13, 1998 and came "home" on New's Year Eve 1998. I remember it had started to snow as we left his breeder's house and continued for hours and hours! His name was perfect, because we were in the midst of blizzard with the "wind chill factor" dipping below zero!
Once home, he marched into the house with a "Hey, look at me!" attitude that a lion in the wild possesses. In fact, up until Chilly was about two years old, we aren't sure if he ever laid down...except at night to sleep!
Chilly always marched to his own private "drummer." He loved food....oh did he love food! He would spin circles at dinner time.
Chilly passed on to Rainbow Bridge on February 11, 2010. He celebrated his 11th birthday in November of 09 and I really thought he would be my first dog to live to a ripe old age, as he was never sick a day in his life.....until his last month. Diagnosed with liver cancer in January, the horrid disease didn't take long to take him from us. May our beloved "Rainman" run free and I sure hope wherever he is....there is a lot food because if there is...Chilly will be okay!
Chilly at 9 years! Still a very handsome YOUNG man!!
Chilly has always marched to a different drummer and I have accepted my sweet boy for who he is! He loves to "train" because there are always treats to be had but, unfortunately "showing" isn't one of his favorite things to do! While he does have one CD leg, and will soon give the new AKC titling event, Rally a try... if given an option he would much rather chase tennis balls and eat grass!

The years have mellowed my SillyChilly a bit. He doesn't do his "lion pace" much any more and as long as the tennis balls are not in sight, he is content to follow me from room to room. He is my constant companion, always making sure I am within his sight and not more than an arm's length away, so as he can nudge my hand for a "scritch" behind an ear. Chilly has been the teacher...and I the student! I am forever grateful that he entered my life. As dogs love unconditionally...so do I love him! Such a Pretty Boy! Happy B-Day Chilly!
