I Promise Just ONE more!!
When good friend, Pat Quinn contacted me and asked if I would be interested in a "show pup" from her boy Cooper's first litter, it took only a second for me to start my "puppy" dance! It didn't take too much dancing to convince the family that "three" Golden Retrievers was the perfect number for our family!
On May 1, 2003, “CJ” landed on earth....literally! His mom (Ch. Spirwater's Loch Hope CD) decided he must be born in the front yard on the
GREEN
grass! And …he was! Thereafter, he was promptly identified as “
GREEN BOY
” by his breeder. While I didn’t know if “
GREEN BOY
” would be mine or not, it had already been decided that whoever came home with me would bear the name....”CJ”....after his dad, Cooper (AM CH SHR Sundown Legends of the Sand JH WC OA OAJ OJP NAP VC CGC). CJ, of course, stands for Cooper, Jr.!
Waiting the 8 weeks to find out who would be mine, seemed to take forever! I was updated with pictures of all the puppies on a weekly basis. “
GREEN BOY
” was looking better and better with each passing week! Finally, the day arrived! The pups were ready to start their new lives with their new families! After careful consideration and prudent deliberation, it was decided "
GREEN BOY
" would become “CJ” and would be going home with me! Was he worth the wait? You betcha! Words cannot describe what this “
GREEN BOY
” means to me! When he came into my life...he said "Hello Mary Lou"...and I said "Goodbye Heart"..!!
"CJ" goes home!
At just 6 months of age, and his first weekend out as a “show dog”, CJ took Winner’s Dog for his first point towards his breed championship! At 16 months he was awarded Best Opposite Sex in Sweeps (BOSS) at a Golden Retriever Specialty Show. CJ finished his AKC American Breed Championship on October 8, 2006. He was awarded his final point by the same judge who had awarded him his first point! A perfect ending to a wonderful beginning! CJ was the BEST PUPPY and is now the BEST DOG! (See News at Goodheart)
Already showing he knows how to "gait" for the ring!
In addition to being a “show dog,” CJ loves to chase & retrieve tennis balls, go swimming, chase & retrieve tennis balls, train in obedience/rally and agility, chase & retrieve tennis balls, work in the field, chase & retrieve tennis balls and just hang out and be a DOG!
On November 29th, CJ was awarded the AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate! On May 12, 2007 he earned his AKC Rally Novice -RN-title. On September 7, 2007 he earned his AKC Rally Advanced-RA-title. This is just the beginning of many more titles I hope to accomplish with him!
