We have been going to every AKC trial in the area for the opportunity to earn Chloe her needed MACH points! We are down to 89 left for her MACH!!! Woohoo!!! Along the way Moxie has earned some Qs too!
This weekend is DOI's show!! USDAA here we come! Chloe earned her Masters Gamble title at Cool Critters way back at the start of October! 3 standards for a ADCH, 1 for a MAD-she can do it!!!!
I really need to get this site up-to-date! Again, sorry! It has been months since I wrote anything and we had a fabuluous summer!!!
We went to Perry in June, so that Moxie and I could use her bye for GP. Nothing stunning, but fun. In addition, we were on a repeat team of Preacher's Creatures with Babette/Minx and Jen/True. Both Minx and True kept the team alive-I kept messing Moxie up! Ugh!
We returned to Perry In July, for AKC. Chloe earned some more points. Only 121 to go for MACH! Moxie earned one leg, I think. We had fun....ate dinner each night with Angela and Bob!
At the End of July we went to MS! Chloe earned a Masters Gamble leg, but no Standard leg for her MAD. Oh, well, we will keep trying. Moxie earned a few legs, but most importantly she earned a SuperQ, her 2nd, and a regular Snooker Q. We now only need the dreaded 4 Jumpers legs and 1 SuperQ for her ADCH.
In August we went to Tailwaggers' night AKC show in West Palm Beach. No Qs for us, but both Chloe and Moxie did very well. Chloe was fabulous! Moxie was too, just one mistake on each course....missed up dogwalk, skid off the table, but the last JWW run on Saturday night was a mess! <g>
Just returned from Palmetto this weekend where Moxie earned her very FIRST DOUBLE Q!!! A first and second place! Woohoo! See the video of Standard, it is on the site now. Chloe had troubles with weaves....this is beginning to be a pattern, so I am taking her to see the vet. The chiropractic vet could not find anything, so maybe it is time for x-rays.
It has been quite awhile since I updated, sorry! Alot has happened, including Daisy's official retirement from competition. She fell off the dogwalk at a USDAA show while running Performance Gamblers. It was horrible-for me. Daisy was okay after a massage and TLC from Val, but was sore for many days afterwards. So, now Daisy trains at 16", has a fun time and hangs out with me at shows. She has to learn to sit by the rings for the first time and not bark-we need to work on that!
I am going to start updating with May as I have absolutely no idea what has been happening! At the same show that Daisy was injured in April, Moxie had a terrific weekend, but unless I go scour the house for ribbon labels, I have no idea what happened. I have videos too, just haven't been uploading, but will catch up like mad this summer while I perfect my Mac skills with a new laptop that I bought at school.
May 9-10 Vero AKC Chloe earned a few points, down to 187 now!!! We do AKC again this month, in June and July so hopefully we will bring down the number and get her MACH next season. Please keep your fingers crossed for us.
Moxie and I had one bar syndrome....twice was my doing-even though I thought I called a command when she was still on the ground.
May 16-17 KETCH USDAA Still trying to get that last Masters Standard leg with Chloe so that she will have earned her MAD!! If she would help me on the contacts instead of bonzaiing off, it would be great! The same dog has a wonderful 2o2o in training, not just saying that either! In Gamblers, which we are working on for her ADCH I did not work the gamble well at all.
Moxie earned the Standard leg that I was hoping to earn with Chloe....this was Moxie's Standard Title. We now need 4 jumpers and 3 snooker (2 SQs) to earn her ADCH. The rest of the runs were not clean, even though we Qd again in Steeplechase and then earned some money today!! Dropped bars, need to figure out why....Tracy said that Moxie was looking at me, not sure what I was doing differently. Hmmm...
Peachblossom Cluster-Perry, GA April 9-11 It finally happened! The April Perry shows were at the same time as my Spring Break!!!!!!!! Did some shopping.... Moxie earned an Exc B JWW leg-2nd Place! Chloe earned her 19th and 20th Double Qs.....now to chip away at about 200 points! Daisy earned her Novice Preferred JWW title!
Dog on It- March 20-22 What a whirlwind weekend! This is my club's show and I am Trial Secretary....thanks to Maisie and all the wonderful volunteers in the score tent I was able to run my dogs with a brain! Thanks everyone!
We had a great time, no Qs for Daisy or Chloe, but Daisy did make the finals of PSJ. <g> Moxie earned her very 1st SuperQ! In addition, we earned another GP leg and her 4th Masters Standard leg.
Saturday night......Angela and Bob got married!!!!!!!!!!! See the video I made on youtube.com of their dances: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEhsNy5Rwmw
Again, behind the times..... Daisy turned 10 on March 13th, we celebrated with a Snooker run at Pals and Paws! Chloe turned 8 on February 1st, we celebrated with a marrow bone party and a walk! Moxie turned 4 on March 1st, we celebrated with marrow bones and a "spaw" party with a home visit from our chiropractic vet, Deneen! We have done several shows since the end of January, even trial secretaried my first AKC show! The most exciting news just happened this weekend at the Pals and Paws agility show in Elkton (near St. Augustine). Moxie and I had the best weekend yet of her agility career to date! Here is what she earned: 1 Steeplechase Q 1 Master Relay Q (we earned that title in January) 2 Master Gamble Qs - which is her title 2 Master Standard Qs Grand Prix Q - 1st Place - Bye for Regionals Most EXCITING of ALL....Moxie and I earned her MAD!!!!!!
Chloe earned a Masters Snooker Q this weekend and was this close to earning a Standard Q for her MAD, but one bar! Ugh! We have more chances this season, hopefully we will get it!
Daisy had a BLAST! On Friday she ran P3 Snooker-no Q, I goofed her up on the 7 of the close which we needed for the Q. Ended up 2 points short. She enjoyed herself greatly!
Yesterday Daisy did something that she has NEVER done before....I sent her behind me like always to start (Gamblers) and she headed off down a line of jumps away from me. She just kept going, I stood still waiting and waving at her saying "hello" (Literally!) Daisy came jumping back PERFECTLY, like we had planned it! She then flew the teeter and I started to lose it and could not see through the laughter tears in my eyes. Everyone watching was laughing too-it was hysterical!!!! We did get to the Gamble, she did it with dropped bars, but the girl can gamble! LOL Part of the run is on tape, but not the first part that was so funny.
Need to Get Caught Up!!! I wonder if I can even remember.... Daytona Beach-AKC Let me brag about Tango, Angela's big yellow boy.....he earned his MACH on Friday at the show! Unfortunately I was not there, but Bequi gave me play by plays on the phone while Angela ran her JWW run for her MACH!
I can finally say that Chloe is over the 500 mark for MACH points....507 to be exact! She earned 20 this weekend and also another Double Q, that makes 18!
Daisy did not play this weekend, but next weekend she is back in Novice Preferred....stay tuned. <g>
Winter Park-USDAA-Dog on It Freezing cold show, ask anyone-even the northerners in attendance!
On Friday night, under the lights all three girls (Yes, all three!) earned Gamble Qs!!!! Daisy in P3, Chloe and Moxie in Masters!
On Saturday Moxie earned her Masters Relay title with Beth and Gracie!!!!!!!!!!! Moxie also earned another Masters Gamble leg!!! Woohoo!
Palm Bay-USDAA This was a fun weekend! Both Daisy (P3) and Chloe (Masters) earned SuperQs on Friday night (Moxie missed getting a Q by one point.) on one of Tom Kula's symmetrical Snooker courses. If you have run one, you know what I am talking about! They are fun and the rules are usually quite interesting and make you think AS you run! If you haven't run one of Tom's Snooker courses, you don't know what you are missing!
Moxie earned a Q in Steeplechase, coming in 5th out of 6 places. We were the second dog to run Round 2, and with encouragement from Greta for my nervous stomach and a horrible course, we ran the sucker clean!!!!!!!!!! Ended up with a 2nd place and a nice chunk of change for Moxie's college fund. LOL
Chloe ran her Standard course totally clean on Saturday, even though I thought I messed up and was running Gamblers, but was over time! She only needs one Standard leg for her MAD!
Moxie did earn a Master Gamblers leg-all three Moxie's in attendance got the Gamble! (I think that is the course we did it on.) I had a fault on Pairs, with Chase, that caused us not to Q.
Not sure what else we earned, but will catch this show up later. New Years-West Palm Beach Daisy was in Novice Preferred for the very first time! She earned two Qs-a 1st and a 2nd in Standard. On one run Daisy jumped off the table-something that I cannot remember her ever doing before. In JWW we couldn't get a Q due to Daisy not wanting to go out to a set of jumps. It was VERY funny!
Chloe Double Q number 17 and some more MACH points! We are going to earn that MACH!
Moxie earned 3 more Exc B FAST legs! We were quite close to some Std and JWW legs, but none to bring home. <g>
AKC-Elkton, again <g> We returned to the Elkton site this weekend, with Bequi and her IGs, for an AKC show.
On Sunday morning, a cold and breezy morning, Moxie earned her very first Exc B Standard leg with a 3rd place under judge Chris Dewey. No bars, stopped 2o2o on all contacts, what a good girl! I goofed her up in JWW to knock a bar, otherwise it would have been her very first Double Q too-maybe next time.
Chloe earned Double Q number 16 on Sunday and also earned 12 more MACH points. We need quite a few MACH points, so hopefully in the coming year we will accomplish a goal and be the first Trendy lab to have a MACH!!! (And the fluffiest labrador to earn one anywhere in the U.S.!
Pals and Paws USDAA-Elkton Thanksgiving weekend of agility, can't be more thankful than that! LOL Moxie competed in the DAM tournament with Brisco/Greta and Rory/Liz. Unfortunately we did not Q, but we all had some great runs-finished 2nd in the Three Dog Relay! Moxie won Masters Standard with a Q on Saturday, her first Standard leg!!!
Chloe was again working on those needed Gamblers and Standard legs, did not get either, but the Gamble was quite hard. In Standard she got two out of three contacts-that silly contact on the dog walk! Ugh!
Daisy played in Jumpers, Gamblers and Snooker-she Qs in P3 Snooker, 2nd place.
Dog on It USDAA - Winter Park This is my club's show, when I am Trial Secretary....With lots of help from terrific friends that volunteer I was able to truly walk courses and run my girls! Thanks Everyone!!!
Daisy is now only entered in a class or two a day, she had great fun participating in Snooker and Gamblers!
Chloe and I are attempting to finish up her ADCH with a couple of Gamblers and a couple of Standard legs....but nothing this weekend. She did give the judge a giggle on her avoidance of contacts though.
Moxie earned a Steeplechase Q, then I sent her off course in the Finals-an off course that was not really a possibility. <g> She did win Masters Jumpers on Sunday afternoon and also earned a 4th Q in Masters Pairs with Daniel and Hailey.
Mid-Florida Golden Retriever show -Orlando This show started off interesting...the judges missed their connecting flight on Friday night, so they were not in attendance until almost Noon on Saturday. Fortunately, Gail Waller sacrificed her Saturday runs to judge FAST and everyone was able to start running at about 10 AM.
Chloe ended the weekend with 2 more JWW Q's and some MACH points. She came very close to a Double Q, but dropped the panel (last jump) on Sunday-no idea why, but we are now stuck on 15.
Moxie earned her very FIRST Exc B JWW leg on Sunday with a 2nd place!!! 15 MACH points, with the multiplier. Nothing major caused the NQs in Standard, just a drop bar or something simple, fortunately.
This was Daisy's first weekend to take it easy and enjoy a show without entering. The park where the trial was held had a great walking trail, so she got to go on a couple of walks, once with a black lab named Rida. <g> We attempted to stand near a ring and watch, but of course Daisy started barking at the dog in the ring. Not good! Need to work on this so that she can sit ringside and watch with me from now on. That should be interesting.
Lab National Specialty-Newnan, GA We had a spectacular time at our first ever Specialty and I am thrilled that I was able to compete there with my girls!
This was Daisy's last official AKC show, so it was fun, but bittersweet. We did not come away with a Q for Daisy, but the runs were terrific and Daisy was her stellar self. If Daisy is entered in AKC anymore, it will be at 16" and back to Novice Preferred.
Chloe earned two JWW Qs and our only ribbons of the show. <g> She ran terrific and I think that I finally determined what I "do" to her in a show so that she loses her 2o2o, fabulous nose touching from training. She sure was a head turner at the show, but no one caused me any grief over her-even though I had her pedigree and DNA at the ready for anyone to peruse.
Moxie had a terrific time as well, but if her owner would be a bit more confident when at a show things would go more postively in the ribbon area. <g> Due to massive rain fall I made the decision on Wednesday morning not to run Moxie at all in Standard as I felt that that the beginning portion of the course was unsafe for her. If any of you have seen how she exits the dogwalk when she loses her footing (which I trained), you would definitely understand this choice.
English Springer Spaniel Show-Alpharetta, GA Daisy earned our one and only Q for the one day that we were at the show, in JWW!!! In Standard she was fabulous, got her contacts perfectly, but the panel came down two obstacles from the end. It was difficult as we had to turn backwards to it after doing the teeter, which stopped her forward motion/speed.
The girls enjoyed getting massages from their Aunt Angela when we were done, so all of them were in a gooey, marshmellow, feel good state for what was to come while we were in GA. July in Perry, GA We had a very fun time in Perry recently catching up with friends and family! The days were long, but relaxing while we waited for our turn in the ring.
I set three goals for the weekend; Daisy should have fun, Chloe to earn her 15th DQ and for Moxie to earn her final legs for her AX and AXJ titles. We accomplished all and more!!!
Daisy had fun and Q'd in JWW 2x-one was a 32 sct run!! Chloe was literally given a Q in Standard for her 15th DQ!! Moxie earned her needed legs with 1st places and now has her AX and AXJ titles!
May 24-25 DTCT-AKC Palmetto for Memorial Day! Hot, hot, hot! Somehow Moxie was entered in Exc A FAST on Saturday, even though that was supposed to be corrected. She did Q, 3rd place, but obviously that is a negated Q. Sunday she won the Exc B FAST class by 2 seconds, but tied for points. She did earn another Exc A JWW leg, with a first place too.
Chloe earned 6 MACH points in JWW!!!! We were having a clean standard run on Sunday, on the way to a possible Double Q and all we had left was the dog walk contact to hit. I guess I "flicked" my hand, is what I have been told, and Chloe headed off to the right through a box instead of staying with me. Oh, well, she retook the Aframe and got the contact, again. <g> She did get her dog walk contact as well. May 16-18 TLC USDAA Moxie earned a "bye" in Grand Prix!!!! She also earned another DAM team Q with Brisco and Rorie on a team called "Aussies Got Moxie".
April 3-5 Palm Bay Agility-Vero Beach What a fun time we had in Vero and staying yet another weekend at my brother Brian's place. A rabbit visits the backyard these days and the girls took it for a spin around the backyard, more than once!
MOXIE BRAGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moxie earned 5, yes 5 Q's this weekend and all but one were 1st places! Moxie earned 2 Exc A Standard legs (one of the Qs would have won us the Exc B 24" class!), 1 Exc A JWW and 2 Exc B FAST legs! Amazing!
Chloe earned 3 JWW Qs and several more points towards her MACH!
Daisy had a fabulous time running courses for the fun of it! The girl still has speed and a love for the game of agility! One JWW course she took three extra jumps, off course, and we still finished the course in about 36 sec. <g> Only a couple of bars dropped, much better than 26" in USDAA for Daisy!
This just in... Chloe has earned her Snooker Bronze title!!!!! Hip, hip hooray for Chloe!!!!!!
March 21-23 at Dog on It USDAA Chloe earned her 2nd Masters Standard Q! Almost 3 seconds under time. I remember the days when Chloe wasn't making time!!! Moxie earned a Pairs leg with Laurie Dana's Burn. Had to redo the dogwalk after she flew off and we still made time!
March 14-17 at Pals and Paws USDAA Moxie earned her 1st Q, and the only one that we needed, in Advanced Jumpers to move "all in" to Masters!!! It was gorgeous. Will upload the video soon, be watching for it. This is also Moxie's AAD Title!
February 2-3 at KETCH USDAA
Moxie earned her 3rd Q in Advanced Standard. On to Masters. She also earned a Grand Prix Q with a smoking great run. The run felt fabulous with no baubles, hesitations or miscommunications! In addition to those Qs, Moxie also earned her first Masters Snooker Q and had almost 10 seconds to spare!
Daisy and Chloe had great fun, but no Qs, maybe next time. Keep your fingers crossed!
January 26 at Daytona AKC
Moxie earned her 3rd leg, with a first place, for her Open JWW title!!! On to Excellent...
January 18-20 at Dog on It
Daisy earned her 2nd Masters Standard Q, a 4th place/Q in Grand Prix and another 4th place/Q in Masters Gamblers!!! Chloe earned a Q in Snooker as she makes her way to a Silver Snooker title! Moxie earned her Advanced Snooker title with a 2nd place/Q and an extra 1st place/Q! She earned another Masters Pairs leg with Brisco too.
New Year's Weekend in West Palm Beach doing AKC with Tailwaggers....
Moxie earned her Exc A FAST title, Q'ing 3/4 of her first time runs in Exc A. She also earned an Open JWW leg, one more to go. This was the weekend for us to tryout Exc A...we did not earn any Q's, but gained much more experience!
Checkout the two new photos of Moxie, taken by Ami Boxer-a former 5th grade student of mine! Yikes, feeling pretty old starting out 2008!
Chloe is finally moving ahead with her Double Q's by earning #14!! She also earned two Qs in JWW for more MACH points, half way there with those. Daisy earned a JWW Q with a 2nd place! She also gained 18 MACH points on that run
.
Pals and Paws Thanksgiving weekend...
Moxie earned her 1st Masters Pairs leg with Karen Holik and her BC Chaser. In addition, Moxie earned her Advanced Gamblers title, two Advanced Standard Qs, one Advanced Snooker Q and another DAM Q with partners MarTini and Brisco. Moxie even won the 26" Team Gamble class!!!
Daisy earned a Snooker Q, coming in 4th!
Update from our weekend at Dog on It....
Chloe and Daisy both earned Grand Prix legs at Dog on It so now just a handful of legs to go for ADCHs!!!! Very exciting, keep your fingers crossed for us!
Moxie earned her Advanced Pairs title with partners Jessica and Piper. In addition, Moxie earned Advance Gamble and Snooker Qs-both first places!
Chloe earned a Steeplechase leg at the Tailwaggers show in late October. That was her elusive tournament leg that she really needed! Only a combo of 8 legs and Chloe will earn her ADCH!!!
Daisy earned her 5th Gamble leg at the Tailwaggers show in late October! Very exciting for us! Daisy only needs a combo of 7 legs to earn her ADCH!!!
Moxie earned her Open Agility title at the Pals and Paws show in early November with a First Place! She is now in Open JWW, Exc A FAST and Exc A Standard.
