Our family is nestled in the foothills of Mt. Kearsarge. Located in the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee Region, a short drive from Boston and the Seacoast.
Granite Gold was choosen for the beautiful Granite State in which we live and of course the color Gold. We have been involved in the breed Golden Retriever for over twenty years. They are important members of our family. We enjoy life with our dogs and the seasons New Hampshire offers:
~Swimming in the lake and romping the trails in the spring, summer and fall.
~They accompany us while we ice fish and skate in the winter.
~They also join us while we work year round.

We began training and showing our first companion, "Gambler" Granite Golden Gambler CD in the obedience ring in the late 80's. In 1991 a beautiful blonde female named "Missy" Siennagold Who's Misbehavin CD joined our family. Missy was co-owned with her breeder Nancy Baybutt of Sienna Gold Goldens. Missy was one of our foundation girls. Our first litter was in July of 1993. In the fall of 1995 we purchased, "Katie" to fulfill the breed ring bug that bit us. Katie went on to become CH. Nautilus Granitgold Hurakate. Katie was owner-handled for her first 8 points which included a 4 point major. Professional Hander, Diana Mason showed Katie to her Championship for us.
We enjoy showing our own dogs in the breed ring, Obedience, Rally and Agility. We've attempted to field train a few of our dogs, but playing with dead birds wasn't much fun. Some of our Goldens we've bred, have gone on to become Therapy and Assistance Dogs.
We believe 100% that a family atmosphere is necessary for a Golden Retriever to thrive and become the best companion.
