As I stated on the puppy info page, my mother was from a huge family consisting of mostly girls so I have decided to name this litter after my aunts and two of their husbands so although it has nothing to do with dogs I will write a little about each one and lets see if the pups acquire any of their traits.
Veikko is my Aunt Kaija's husband, they have been married for over 60 years. They had the Brady bunch kids, 3 boys and 3 girls. My uncle retired years ago from being a construction crane operator. Veikko just turned 86 on April 22. He is still strong and healthy as an ox. I usually visit Finland during the summer months but I was there in January of 2005 and he was still shovelling his own driveway and he is meticulous about his yard in the summer.
I have to give Veikko a second name. Lasse, who was my mother's brother, can't be left out. Lasse is also the puppies' father, Ilo's, real name. My uncle Lasse was a very kind, gentle, quiet man who loved children. Maybe that is why my uncle had 5 of them. His children were closest in age to me so I spent a lot of time with them as a child. The pups' Daddy Lasse, has very much the same qualities minus maybe the quiet...lol I will forever have a soft spot for both Lasses.....
