As I stated on the puppy info page, my mother was from a huge family consisting of mostly girls so I have decided to name this litter after my aunts and two of their husbands so although it has nothing to do with dogs I will write a little about each one and lets see if the pups acquire any of their traits.
Väinö was a wonderful, funny, interesting man. He was a great story teller, loved to sing and read poetry. He loved wood working which he did in the original farm house when he and my aunt Liisa built a new home in the 70s. I have several things made by him and many members of our family, I am sure, will cherish the wooden arcs he loved to make for special birthdays, etc. Väinö was a true character, who you could not help but love.
I learned something new this morning, April 30th. While watching the puppies with my mom, she told me that she had another brother who had died at the age of 2 1/2 from menangitis. His name was also Väinö...so there are now two namesakes.....
