Here is a wonderful link to information about grooming http://www.mts.net/~mckay55/grooming.html
Your new havanese will require regular grooming to keep his/her coat looking it's best. Remember a clean coat, is a healthy coat. If you are not up to this task be sure to take your havanese into a groomer on a regular basis. Your groomer will help you in deciding what kind of coat (long/short) and how often you need to come in.
The havanese coat should be brushed/combed at least twice a week and baths given as needed; but at least once a month.
Remember to keep the ears clean as they are prone to ear infections, (as are all drop eared dogs).
Nails should be clipped each time you bathe.
