Havanese require grooming. Here are some tips:
Brush your Havanese out daily or every other day with a wire brush.
Keep his/her eye area and butt area trimmed.
Make sure he/she is not matted (if matted take to a prof. groomer.)
Bath with a good pet shampoo and brush out when dry. (biweekly)
Take to a prof. groomer monthly.
If your pet is scooting take to vet or groomers for a anal gland expression.
