This is what we've been up to...
Christmas Eve 2005

Christmas Eve 2006!

Plenty of yuletide cheer for the whole family

As always Christmas Eve was truly a magical evening! This year the whole family was there and we sat down to a huge Christmas dinner with all the trimmings!

Everyone had far too much to eat as usual, but what can you do when the food is good and it just keeps coming? Nothing! Just keep eating!

After dinner we sang carols (in the key of life = 5 different keys!)  and opened the pile presents, which had grown since last year, which was strange as the number of kids was the same at the last count.

As usual the kids got all the biggest presents (not fair!) and the adults (Jacob) were kept busy assembling toys and later explaining why the batteries for the really noisy presents were really really tired and needed to go early to bed to rest for the next day!

Little Christian was especially entertaining and thoroughly enjoyed all the attention and excitement!
And the presents!

Christmas Day
Christmas Day!
With the grandparents...

Christmas day was spent with Grandma and Grandpa as usual.
We had another great dinner and plenty of quality family time.

Grandpa was attacked with balloons by the grandkids, which as Jacob explained from the sofa,  is part of  the official Grandpa job description ;-)

A historical addition to the website
Something new...!
The good old days

Just for fun, I spent the day going through some old photos I got from my dad.

So I've made a page called "The good old days..." -where you can find some funky old family photos from the days when everyone wore black and white clothes ;-)

Can you guess the year? Click here!

That´s my boy!

Jonathan is GROWING!
25 inches and better looking every day.

Jonathan is now 25 inches long.  He doesn't fit the newborn clothing anymore. But best of all, he has begun to smile, which is just wonderful!

He is already a hot favourite for the Baby Oscars in this catagory for best looking baby in a home video clip, Best smile, Best bedwetting and a special award for Outstanding shoulder puke on Jacob last week!

Unfortunately, he still doesn't know the difference between night and day, so he was nowhere near a nomination for Best "sleeping the whole night through" baby Oscar!

We hope he works on this ... so we can get a decent night’s sleep!!!

Jonathan poses on his stomach.
Holding his head up high!
Googling, gurgling and burbling...

Jonathan is really growing.  Look at him holding his head up high, while lying on his front. No small feat for a new-born!

He must get that kind of strength from his mother I think!

His record for head holding is 5 minutes!. He just loves looking at the world around him - and all this without crying - on the contrary he seems to be commenting on the world around him with little gurgling and googling and burbling noises in baby speak. This is a strange language that we haven´t found a dictionary for at the book-shop  - yet!

A wonderful visit.
A visit to great grandmother's!
Great grandma's 15th great grandchild comes to visit!

Today we visited Jonathan's great grandmother to introduce the two of them. Jonathan is her15th great grandchild and she is his first great grandmother, so they had a lot to talk about!

G-Grandmother: Who´s a lovely boy then?
Jonathan: Gurgle, burble, mumble! (Translation: Me of course!)

Our first family holiday...
On holiday!
Finally some time off ...

In this picture we are enjoying our very first summer holiday with Jonathan. We were really lucky with the weather - plenty of sunshine, so we were in the garden most of the time!

Jonathan loves being out in the sunshine and playing in the grass...

Especially when mum is very, very close at hand!
